EPA’s Texas Takeover (the takeovers are endless..wake up, OUR GUYS!)
American ^ | 12-23-10 | Kenneth P. Green

As Gabriel Nelson of Greenwire reports, the EPA has taken one step closer to stripping the state of Texas of the right to determine how it wants to control air pollution.

The EPA has given TX final warning that if they do not implement new requirements for the regulation of greenhouse gases (which several states have challenged in court), the EPA will take over the authority to grant operating permits to industry in Texas itself.

Texas Governor Perry is fighting the takeover, of course, but EPA has rarely been faced down in court.

The action, which is nearly unprecedented in the history of the Clean Air Act suggests that rather than backing down on EPA’s regulatory putsch, the Obama Administration plans to double down and run the country as a permitocracy.

There is nothing that DC has that we need here in Texas! THEY need us...not the other way around!

I know we do get funds from them...but I don’t think Perry can
be bribed or coerced by false promises. He sees through the
bull! :)

...or that’s the way I see it, anyway!

I think the EPA will do this to all the states. It’s just that only Texas and a few other states are fighting back.

The EPA will totally cripple the economy for the global warming hoax.

Abolish the EPA, FCC etc.

That is another reason that socialism/government doesn’t work.Government doesn’t do things for efficiency, economy nor to try to cure real problems. Government does things for political reasons like this global warming BS.

All I can say is....

“Make my day, EPA!” WE could “defund” them in many ways that
would hurt!

Yep .. and that is THE HEART OF OUR CONCERN.

For Reid/Pelosi to have gotten what they
did in the Lame Duck is beyond revolting.

Perry is planning on running for prez and he wants to be able to run against EPA while his VP candidate, Sarah Palin....

Man, have you got that equation backwards.

First of all, Perry has been adamant that he's not running for president.

Secondly, the American people are not going to give the presidency to another Texas governor for some time to come.

Thirdly, of the several potential candidates, Sarah Palin is the most well-positioned to win the nomination and the general election. She's got no plans to ever take a back seat to anyone again.

For the sake of Texas, and the Union, I hope that Rick Perry faces the EPA down and makes them back off. It'll take some serious guts, but I'm afraid it's gut check time. Someone's got to stand up to the tyrannical over-reach of Washington.

To heck with court, this should be a call to arms.

U.S. EPA’s new rules for power plants, refineries and other large industrial facilities will “deprive Texas of its right to manage its air resources,” the state says in a petition filed last week with the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The plea to the New Orleans-based court, which has jurisdiction over Texas but doesn’t usually review challenges to Clean Air Act programs, is the state’s last-ditch effort to stop the regulations from taking effect in two weeks.

court filing Friday, the Obama administration urged the 5th Circuit to throw out Perry’s new petition, saying that the D.C. Circuit is responsible for weighing these types of requests. Texas’ request is “an improper attempt to re-litigate before this court its unsuccessful arguments,” the Justice Department argued in its response.

We need to remake the “Come and take it” flag and replace the cannon with a barrel of oil.

GO Greg Abbot. Perry is the governer, but Abbot is the state AG and is fighting this crap all the way.

but EPA has rarely been faced down in court.

Screw the court. I'm sick of the court. When is a governor finally going to stand tall and tell the feds (and their court) to go play in the street? It was bad enough when the governor of Florida, Jeb Bush, was faced down by a county probate judge and the nation watched in horror the excruciating month-long state murder of Terri Schiavo, but will we now have to watch another coward - this one in Texas - cave to an unelected bureaucracy in Washington DC?

Pray for America. Pray for elected officials with spine.

I do believe that it will take an event of Biblical proportion to wake up the American public in order to get back to basics and a return to common sense which so far has been in short supply. I do not believe in any doomsday scenarios but I think we maybe getting close to one. Unfortunately your assessment of the public appears to be right on target.

Omullah: just try to shut down our Texas industry, and we will be taking it with us to a new conservative Constitutional Republic.

I really do think it is time for Texas patriots to call for a Republic of Texas Constitutional Commission to be immediately established, with a view to creating documentation for a new declaration of independence and a new constitution for the new Republic of Texas, for referendum later in the year and effective on January 1, 2012. We have given it a 150 year effort as a state and it is all turning to disaster, no freedom, no economic or personal freedom, police state courtesy of the beltway, corrupt drug war murdering thousands on our border. The rest of the states may follow our lead, except certain commie stongholds like CA and NY. We can just exit the craziness of Obama’s islamist jamaharriyah.
