Republicans poised to take power in Congress are planning a rapid attack against a climate change initiative the Obama administration wants to launch on January 2, according to members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
Their resolve could harden further after President Barack Obama's Environmental Protection Agency announces a second layer of regulation, possibly as early as Thursday, ratcheting up Washington's fight against global warming.
"I think we ought to start with a two-year pause" in upcoming U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations, said Representative Mike Simpson, the Republican who is expected to head a House panel that controls EPA's budget.

While they’re at it, how about slapping the heads of the FCC.
Both can be true. The Republicans can slow down the worst of the socialist excesses but they are not (and most are unwilling to consider) stopping the usurpation of State power that inevitably leads to socialism. In the long run we are screwed with these Republicans.
You and me both!
Great idea! Let’s do it. I’ll be sending it to my Rep/Sen.
If the incoming republicans are worth anything then they will expose the whole man made global warming scam for what it is. They will shout it from the roof tops, and to the world. Educating people that the whole scam has always been about power and money is the best defense that there could ever be against its continued growth as a tool by the power elite.
Most of the “OLD” republicans have proven that they are part of that elite, and part of the scam.
Both my Republican senators—Alexander, Corker—voted for START. I doubt they can be counted on to confront the EPA.
Actually business prefers federal regulation to state and local because it reduces the regulatory burden.
In the nineteenth century industrial capitalism was just getting started. Railroads were the biggest corporations and were often targets of states.
If there is a more democratic approach to regulation capitalism will be under heavier attack than it already is.
Amen and AMEN to the 10th power !!!!
This is encouraging news. I agree, it would be far better to abolish the EPA, along with the Energy Department as well, plus more of the useless debt creating bureaucracies.
[When dealing with fascists you cant just nudge back. Youve got to take them down and crush them and make them fear showing their faces.]
We are currently on the same path as Venezuela, inch by inch. If you don’t roll them back, we are doomed.
Bwuhahahaha, Republicans DO something? thanks for the laugh.
Better idea. Deport the whole agency to China. Also OSHA and a few other Federal troublemaker agencies. This would level the playing field. We could send some of them to India too.
I plan on spending the rest of my life fighting Communism in America.
What global warming?!? One of the coldest years ever, not that facts have anything to do with anything.
This regime is scary, and I suspect the worst is yet to come as he takes over the internet regulation, controls energy production, food production. Virtually all of the environmental lawsuits are designed to decrease food and energy supplies. The question is why. Wake up America, bad things are happening under the radar.
Oh, please! This type of title should not even be covered under the 1st amendment. - It isn't press at all, its hate speech pure and simple
Come on, it starts with: Republicans Plot Death
How can any such thing be considered fair & balanced reporting?
It reads like it was lifted straight from Goebbel's Ministry of Propaganda.
I am feeling just like you. Seeing is believing.
The caving on everything before Christmas was just...SICKENING.
No, that only allows the enemy to fight later.....
.....EPA must be destroyed, ASAP!
Let's face it, they aren't out there for OUR interests, they are fighting a political battle against the USA at our expense. It MUST BE STOPPED.
