A military jury has convicted an Army doctor who disobeyed orders to deploy to Afghanistan because he questions President Obama's eligibility for office.

Colonel Sullivan reports that after receiving the answers to their inquiries (reported in the previous liveblogging entry), the members deliberated for twelve more minutes before returning their verdict. The court-martial moved immediately to sentencing.
The prosecution played in its entirety LTC Lakin’s YouTube video announcing his plans to refuse to deploy. At the conclusion of the tape, the birthers in the audience stood and gave sustained applause.
The military judge did not gavel the court to order; she simply let them finish. I am reasonably certain that their outburst will not count against the accused; but in no way could it have helped.
The prosecution called Colonel Roberts, the brigade commander and MOH recipient, to the stand as their first live witness. He testified that the accused’s behavior was unprofessional and had a negative impact on the unit. Cross examination was limited and, according to Colonel Sullivan, “didn’t really go anywhere.”
MAJ Dobson, the doctor who had to replace LTC Lakin on short notice, testified next. He recounted how two days after arriving in theatre, the unit suffered a mass-casualty attack, with sixteen wounded. He said that he was not, in his opinion, as well-prepared to deal with the attack as he would have been had he had longer to prepare for operations at the FOB.
The defense suggested on cross that the deployment was probably a good career opportunity for the major personally. Another point which will likely not go over well.
The next witness was MAJ Dobson’s wife, herself a combat veteran, who testified that she and her husband had to forego some coursework they had planned to take together, and that as a result of his short-notice deployment, he missed the award ceremony in which she was awarded the Bronze Star. She also testified about how hard it was to prepare their young son for his dad’s sudden and unexpected departure.
Sentencing resumed at 1545. So far, not a good day for the accused.

If I’d have been on that jury, it would have been hung, were that an option that is part of the procedure.
We've seen what a few can do. Not much against the regime. We need a LOT.
On Gordon Liddy’s radio show this morning there was a man describing a Lakin support fund, I suppose in part to help support his family if needed, that has been established with the help of an officear of a Franklin, Tennessee bank. I heard this while driving my auto, and was not able to write down or remember the details. I believe it was said that Lakin is Leavenworth-bound, for 18 months.
Not to mention records of termination of Indonesian citizenship and concurrent conferring of U. S. citizenship. I believe Indonesia does not allow dual citizenships.
1) Audacity
2) Politicians, a media, courts, law enforcement, and a military that will do nothing.
If for no other reason than to discourage others from trying the same thing.
Yes I feel really sorry for Lakin. Somebody talked him into a bad idea. They are going to make an example of him to keep others from getting the same idea. Getting Obama out on eligibility is going to have to be done either through the SCOTUS or the Congress. More than likely he will be forced to resign in disgrace as soon as Darryl Issa starts investigating all of the Obama crimes in January.

Contact your congressman, senators, County Sheriff, DA, State Legislators, Governor, and County Grand Jury Foreman and demand that they indict, prosecute, convict and imprison BO and all his local co-conspirators for leaking information to WikiLeaks and all the other crimes: Voter Fraud, Identity Theft, Illegal Foreign Campaign Contributions, TSA Sexual Assaults, Poisoning of Gulf of Mexico, Embezzlement of Government funds etc.

The government introducing this evidence opens up the can of worms. They've just pushed Lakin back into the 'cause célèbre and martyr.' They didn't do Obama any favors here.
Yeah! I get it! Going along to get along would be looking out for the troops? I don't think so.
Having a likely usurper as a Commander in Chief, how could that be good for morale?
Gee! And to think that all this could have been resolved with a nod of the head from Obama and the release of a few key documents. Obama doesn't release them because he can't.
My conclusion: Obama doesn't have a U.S. long form birth certificate. His life is one big fabricated lie.
It's a complete guarantee that it will be heard at the first level of appellate of review.
He refused to obey the lawful orders of three superior officers - violations of Article 92, UCMJ, Failure to Obey an Order or Regulation. And he didn't report for a flight taking him to his new temporary duty station in Kentucky - a violation of Article 87, UCMJ, Missing Movement.
I’m not a Lawyer, so I can’t say for certain.
But, I do believe that the sentence would NOT be overturned.
Here is my rationale. At this point in time, there is no clear reason to believe that he is not qualified to be President. I may not like him, I may QUESTION his legimacy - but I do not know that he is unqualified.
Because I do not KNOW - I must assume he is legitmate, until proven otherwise. Innocence is assumed, guilt needs to be proven.
Otherwise, any soldier could question any command, from any officer - because they questioned the legitimacy of the superior officer to hold the rank they hold. This way leads to chaos.
No. Obama's eligibility or ineligibility is irrelevant to the charges Lakin was convicted of or pled guilty to.
Who the hell else would stand up for the constitution after this? You got that right.
