Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VM) is using a true speaking filibuster to prevent vote that stops a tax raise.

He used to campaign in Vermont on a belief that no one needs to make more than $50,000...of course, now that he is in Congress; we haven’t heard that from him anymore...

Speaking of North Hampton i was in a pizza joint in Amherst once that had a framed National Enquirer hanging on the wall with the huge headline “Strange Town where men are not wanted: North Hampton, Massachusetts......”

I recieved a bogus parking ticked in the mail once from that town and had to drive the 2 hours to their city hall to pay the stupid thing or lose my licence.
Pissed me off. My car and myself were like 100 miles away when the supposed ticket was written.

I’m surprised you couldn’t challenge the ticket. If they got the plate number wrong (as I assume they did), how in the world (except for coincidence) did the vehicle description match up on the citation?

I see many here have opinions that this is a good thing. That the Republicans can come together in January and write a new bill that is even better, and that it will pass without further compromise. My problem with that is Obama could VETO the bill,where with this one he has already committed himself to sign it if it hits his desk.

Are we talking Eugene? :-) Personally I would like to see them leave and destroy some place else. Preferably on some isolated island in Antarctica where they are welcome to control their complete environment and not need to worry about global warming.

One of my fantasies was to see alien spacecraft hook a tow chain to Cape Cod; and use it to tow New England out to the North Atlantic, where it could drift about until the end of time without bringing any further harm to the United States. Think about it...doesn't Barney Frank (D - North Atlantic) have a nice ring to it?

More like New York liberals. Growing up in Mass I always thought of Vermont as northeastern New York. Mass holes have mostly moved to New Hampshire.

This was back around 1990.
I ignored it at the time but found that i could not renew my license if i did not pay it.
lezbo town and the RMV insisted that i had to pay it in person, get a reciept to show the RMV i paid it off in order to get a renewal.
I believe it was just a plate number on the ticket, no vehicle description or anything.
I was pissed but used the excuse to drive up there to visit a few old U-Mass buddies of mine.

I imagine i coulda challenged it but that would also mean a trip up there for court.
I needed my license because it was about to expire so i just paid the thing.

After reading this morning Sen. Jim DeMint’s explanation of why he will not support the tax bill, I find myself in the uncomfortable position of agreeing with Bernie, but not for the same reasons, I’m sure. Rush was once again crystal clear in his explanation of the shenannigans the dems are going through to get it passed, a bill liberally larded with pork. next week is going to be expensive. sd

I've got to say that although I agree with the guy about absolutely nothing, I respect the fact that he has the courage of his convictions and doesn't pretend to be anything but what he is: a socialist.

Frankly, I can't agree LESS with that statement. The only reason he has "the courage of his convictions" is that he knows he could be caught in bed with a dead hooker AND a live boy and still get 70 percent of the vote. Che-Porter is a snake, but only because she knew she didn't live in a "safe" district. No difference between her and him, IMO.
