Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VM) is using a true speaking filibuster to prevent vote that stops a tax raise.
Excellent!
If Dems stop this and largest tax increase in history is imposed, so be it. The blame goes 100% for dems (and to Obama for failing to deal with his party).
Next year GOP has more seats and is in better position to push even better tax deal.
In anyway, filibuster and shutting down work in Senate is great news. Hope it continues for weeks. Remember to keep sending supporting notes and calls to Bernie!
I agree with Rush and Hugh Hewitt that it might be better to scrap any bill that comes out of this Lame Duck Congress.
As the ‘Bush tax cut’ bill progresses through the congressional sausage-making process, it more and more resembles a pork sandwich. The addition overnight of an extension of the ethanol write off leads me to believe that the post-January Congress would do a better and less costly job of extending the Bush tax cuts.
Obama can’t win for losing. What a spectacle!
All that “hope and change” euphoria of 2008 seems like ancient history now.
They’re so cute when they throw their little tantrums, aren’t they?
It is a VERY beautiful and peaceful place up there in those green mountains.
The one thing that kinda freaked me out was all of these farm stands on the side of the road selling veggies on the Honor system.
I’d grab a few tomatoes of whatever. go to the cash box and see like 40 bucks just sitting in there.
Here in MA that 40 bucks would last 2 minutes before being stolen.
The poster above had a good point about the infestation of Mass lezbo’s up there though.
It seems whenever i actually saw a human being up there it was usually a scrungy dike.
New Yorkers and hippies, actually...same problem in New Hampshire...
according to Linda Chavez, the dems don’t have the votes on Dream.
Yeah, but there’s plenty of moonbats overflowing the CT River into places like Keene, Lyme, and Plymouth, to name a few.
Are you confusing Sanders with Bwaney Fwanks ?
Isn’t this actually better? The new Republicans come in and get it passed after the new year. Then the cuts are attributed to the Republicans, rather than the old dem regime. Plays better in the 2012 elections.
Thanks for the update but lack of votes never stopped the marxists before. I think Dems in the Senate are thinking 2012 so hopefully nothing happens this year.
The GOP needs to filibuster the rest of the year.
The Democrats now remaining in Congress are straight up marxists and members of the marxist Congressional Progressive Caucus
The right needs to institute a policy of ZERO TOLERANCE FOR MARXISTS IN CONGRESS.
CPC members need to be hunted down like the degenerate communist animals they are and jailed for subversion and grand theft.
Letting these people walk around as if they are ordinary Americans is a serious mistake, they are robbing the productive class via the legislative process.
They want to steal more of our money, let them do it the old fashioned way, at gunpoint.
And when will the lamestream media claim that Democrats are now holding the middle class hostage? Answer: when Hell freezes over.
There is an active secessionist movement in Vermont...I say GO!, and take Sanders with you. A bit of history...at the beginning of his political career, Bernie Sanders WON the mayoral election in Burlington, Vermont by a margin of TEN votes. If eleven other people had gotten off their *ss to vote for his opponent; his political career might have been nipped in the bud, and we might not be sitting here listening to this communist flapping his piehole from the floor of the Senate.
Hey, I admire him for standing for what he believes in. Too bad nobody on our side was willing to do this to stop Obamacare!
You would think we would have some "conservatives" in the Senate who would have tried to kill the health care bill this way.
Then there are the New York transplants who want to impose a toll on Interstate 93 from the Massachusetts border to Littleton to take advantage of all the toursists heading up to the White Mountains to ski and hike...
