Barack Obama loves to portray himself as a compassionate humanitarian.
Assuring justice and avoiding unnecessary punishment is such an obsession, he would have us believe, that he opposes detaining those participating in acts of war against the U.S. He even insisted on a civilian trial in New York for the man who confessed to masterminding the Sept. 11 attacks.
But Obama's compassion does have its limits.
There's one distinguished U.S. Army officer and physician who appears to be headed to prison soon.
He hasn't committed any crimes.
He has served his country honorably in foreign wars.
His reviews by superiors were all impeccable.
Yet, he is headed for a court-martial and a likely prison sentence and discharge because he wanted to ensure he was upholding the oath he took as a commissioned officer to support and defend the Constitution.
Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin wanted to determine with certainty that the president who was ordering him deployed to another foreign war was actually constitutionally eligible to serve in office.

Perhaps Obama can show compassion and pardon LtC. Lakin after conviction and sentencing, but there is no way that the President of the United States should personally intervene in the Court Martial of a field officer for refusing to report to his commanding officer and refusing to get on planes and fly to Charlotte, North Carolina and Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.
The Military Judge already ruled that no discovery, evidence or testimony regarding Barack Obama will be introduced in the Court Martial.
This proceeding is about missing movement and failure to report, period.
Maybe it's a fabrication? Maybe?? Only a "maybe"?

That is a very false statement. I would imagine that the many in the military who miss movement would love for that to be true. Will we now overturn every UA charge for those who were convicted in the last two hundred years? There will be millions of happy campers.

There are ways to protest political issues, but LtC. Lakin picked the wrong one.
As an officer he is also fully aware of UCMJ and how his actions would be dealt with. This has nothing to do with Obama’s eligibility; it is a court martial for violation of military rules as you aptly stated. People on FR need to educate themselves about the military before making this guy a martyr of some kind.
As I understand the motive of LCdr Larkin he meant to determine if the order for him to deploy was a LAWFUL order. If, in fact, Obama is not a lawful president then all orders he gives as commander-in-chief are not lawful. UCMJ does not require any service member to follow an unlawful order. In fact it requires them to not obey unlawful orders.

I don't believe Obama is eligible to be president. However, I think by our laws that he is lawfully elected president as the electoral college and Congress certified him. I was cheering Lakin at first but now I feel that he has thrown everything away unnecessarily.
The US government is way too powerful, corrupt, and dishonest to go to the truth or administer justice in this case.
Please God help us.
LTC Larkin is incredibly brave, honorable and patriotic. He doubt he ever expected to win this battle. He knew and knows that he is just a soldier attacking the enemy lines to protect our Constitution. It is going to take more reinforcements to break the enemy lines, but what he has done helps to weaken those lines.
Please don't dishonor him by saying he threw away his career unnecessarily. He is doing his duty.
We really should never have prosecuted those German guards at Auschwitz. They were just following orders.
All the blame for this situation is on Obama and the enablers who won't demand the release of a form they all say exists.
Larkin will be convicted by this kangaroo court, but his efforts are not in vain.
If Obama lied about being a natural born citizen then how could he be lawfully elected?
All this could have easily been resolved with a nod of the head from Obama. It wouldn't have even cost him a dime. Others would have been more than willing to pay the fees and done the paperwork.
When even the liberal/Marxist comedians are making nasty jokes about his natural born status, we know that Obama is being flushed. Big time!
It would be a crime to follow an unlawful order.
If Obama is not a natural born citizen then everything he has said and done since collecting the first campaign dime has been unlawful.
There are legal courts and then there is the court of public opinion and conscience. Just ask Martin Luther King and Ghandi.

In the court of public opinion how many of our enemies now **KNOW** that our top military commanders are sniveling toadies? How can that be good for our nation's security?
His honor is intact. He is holding true to his sworn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. LTC Lakin is a hero to millions of American Citizens who understand the eligibility issue and the meaning of the term 'natural born citizen' as written into our Constitution.
