The anti-banker? ;-) Somehow I don't think this is a personality "trait" you'll find on Wall Street or in any financial community.
i.e. In recent years a lot of people (soldiers, rescuers, volunteers, etc.) have risked their lives in helping war torn, earthquake, flooded and otherwise ravaged cities, countries and regions all the while the financial community has rewarded itself immensely with bonuses and salaries. (Not to mention the questionable loyalties of a group that would so risk the well being of their own countries through their financial recklessness.)
With a bit of worthy media recognition, people like Bart Weetjens could bring more honour to their countries than any modern banker. And his performance has been extraordinary - all without any multi-million dollar bonus.
And people wonder why Buffett and Gates are giving their wealth to charity.
Or ... how I discoverd how to use landmines for rat extermination.
SnakeDoc
Do they rats actually explode when they hit one??????
If so then I would pay money to watch this.
We could get OTB (Off-Track Betting) involved and solve the deficit too, I think.
Crony-corrupt banking is no good and our government is criminal for what they’ve done for their banker supporters.
But there’s no reason to trash banking as a profession or bankers as individuals apart from any other profession or individuals in the private sector.
DemocRATs?
DemonRats?
Promise them 72 virgin rats and a block of cheese.
Nope, these are the actual useful kind of rats.
Because a century ago the captains of industry realized they could get a tax dodge and become their OWN charities and sit on the board.
Rather than tithe to a church, they saw themselves in competition with organized religion.
are you my long lost cousin?
One of me might be but certainly not me.
"So you're a banker?"
We’ve got plenty of them to give..............
No—but this is a thread that Michelle Obama could have started.
If these rats are saving American and allied soldiers then God bless em.
Let’s train bankers to sniff out land-mines! :-)
PS I work in the industry myself. In fact, I work directly with derivatives. And I’m increasingly surrounded by engineers from all over the world that have abandoned real world engineering to come over to the dark side to work on financial engineering rather than doing something productive and socially valuable with their enviable skills and training. It’s disheartening and sad. Just as America doesn’t manufacture anything anymore - all this brain power is shifting to finance, accounting and other transactional fields rather than doing something truly productive.
Holy crap those are BIG rats!
Giant African pouched rats...the dude always had a ‘passion’ for rodents...
Watch the video - the really cool thing is he’s using them for medical diagnostics!!!!
That’s no big deal.
According the the Eqyptian government, Israelis have trained sharks to swim to Eqypt and attack tourists.
(Seriously)
I found this quite interesting. I also enjoyed listening to Bart Weetjens.
Possible uses seem limitless, although I’m not quite ready to run out and start a rat ranch. ;>)
