WASHINGTONThe U.S. economy added fewer jobs than expected in November and the unemployment rate rose to its highest level since April, underlining the continued weakness in the labor market 17 months into the recovery.
Nonfarm payrolls rose by 39,000 last month as private-sector employers added only 50,000 jobs, the Labor Department said Friday. The October number was revised up slightly to show a 172,000 increase from a previous estimate of 151,000.
The unemployment rate, which is obtained from a separate household survey, unexpectedly rose to 9.8% last month. More than 15 million people who would like to work can't get a job.
Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires had forecast payrolls would rise by 144,000 and that the jobless rate would remain unchanged at 9.6%.
“This obamantion administration is using the tactics all communist nations do by controlling the numbers reported using the communist controlled media, mostly stupid overpaid liberals who are not worth watching or hearing from at all as they are boring and lying regularly.”
This closer to the truth than we’d like to know. It may be an ad hoc bloodless coup communism/socialism, held back only by our long lived but crumbling institutions of checks and balances, but it is *that* nonetheless.
If it goes to ten, Obama will face impeachment and Biden will make a good rubber stamp to get through what needs to be gotten through.
As the enraged populace comes at them with torches and pitchforks.
Nah, we’re Americans. Instead, we have tar and feathers; if we behead anyone, we use a bayonet.
I predict that around mid-January, with the season holiday over, things will completely crash and then, no matter how the press reports it, there will be rage. The press can sing the good news, but then so did Pravda during the Soviet Union. At some point, there will be open revolt or impeachment; the past election showed grassroots action and now the reaction will be grassroots. People still have some seasonal opportunities, but once that is over, unemployment will be essentially the new norm. More people will lose their homes, more will lose their possessions, and the only people who will survive will be the ones who already have homes paid off fully (not many) and people who have specialized skills that aren’t really dispensible.
You’re right. After the seasonal jobs, there will be MASSIVE collapse. I think Obama is going ot get impeached, it’s the only way to turn to this around.
Excellent, remember, less is more!
On a more serious note, impeachment is the only way out of this and to turn things around. Mid-way past January, there will be crucifixion and the MSM won’t be able to tell a man who just lost his home that the economic recovery is on the way. Everyone knows who is to blame and it’s why Tea Party people were elected en masse this time around and why the movement has throve as it has.
Oh, Couric, I didn’t know you came here!
I meant minority leader, of course. Please, in future try to avoid calling me an idiot. Thank you.
Actually, I was referring to those who voted for her to become Minority Leader. I’ll refrain from the, “guilty conscience” line of questioning.
My mistake.
