WASHINGTON (AP) -- The top Senate Democrat said Tuesday he'd move to force a test vote this week on a measure to give tens of thousands of young illegal immigrants a path to legal status.
Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., said he'd move to schedule action on the so-called Dream Act, which would give more than 100,000 young immigrants brought to the United States before the age of 16 a chance to become legal residents if they attend college or join the military.

I generally speaking am against illegal immigration and the sins of the parents are indeed visited on the children (if a man robs a bank and is put in prison, the kids suffer — it is just part of life).
But for this one, I am willing to split the baby. Serve 4 years in the military in a spot available for active duty deployment and I think permanent residency is a proper reward.
If those in or from the armed forces disagree then I am open to argument.
The folks in Arizona are not guilty. It was unions in Nevada that returned this criminal to the Senate. But hey, he’s their criminal.
If people want to stop Harry Reid cold, they should get the book I wrote to Rush or Glenn Beck. Trust me, I’ve tried.

You can try you silly bugger but it is never going to happen. America already has a means for people to become citizens. Worked for hundreds of years no reason to change now.
The military is already open to foreigners and has been for some time. For those who complete their service honorably citizenship is available to them.

Something called the rule of law. You can't enter this country illegally and expect to get naturalized or have your status legalized.
Our military is not composed of mercenaries. We recruit our force from citizens and legal permanent residents.
We invaded your country. We don't like your laws. Change them especially for us. Or else.
Something tells me that if we give each of them a little American flag to wave and citizenship, they still won't support or uphold the laws of this country.
