An outbreak of gonorrhea across Alaska that began in 2009 is continuing this year, and health officials say they are trying new ways to curb it.
Between 2008 and 2009, the number of gonorrhea cases in Alaska rose an alarming 69 percent, according to a new U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report.

I’m sure that somehow the VD rates in Alaska are the fault of Sarah Palin. I’m sure she cut VD treatment funding or otherwise somehow did something which failed to show compassion for VD sufferers.

Some villages really suffer from child abuse, some not so much. In the bad ones, the 11 year olds are having babies, all kinds of genetic problems, and the kids are all having sex with their immediate family members & relatives;; sad places at times. No wonder the VD rate is high.
The Indians claim it all started when their kids were removed (to Americanize them)from the villages in 1940's. The boarding schools were run by White Peds & and there was unreal sex abuse; some truth to it too. Today in villages you have 40 & 50 year old members (who were abused as kids) now preying on the 8-10 year olds in the village. Indians can't make it stop and the leadership really try to solve that social problem. They just need to start feeding the abusers to the bear.
Then in some villages, these related problems are practically non-existent.I've seen villages that were located close to urban areas and there was an economy, so the Indians all had jobs and careers. Not near the problems in those villages.
