WASHINGTON Cabinet secretaries, top congressional leaders and an exclusive group of senior U.S. officials are exempt from toughened new airport screening procedures when they fly commercially with government-sanctioned security details.
New heightened security procedures by the Transportation Security Administration, which require either a scan by a full-body detector or an intimate personal pat-down, have spurred passenger outrage in the lead-up to the Thanksgiving holiday airport crush.
The senior government officials can opt out of such measures if they fly accompanied by government security guards approved by the TSA. The agency would not explain why it makes these exceptions, but many of the exempted government officials have gone through several levels of security clearances, including FBI background checks.

Exactly. When did this become Animal Farm?
I guess what’s so infuriating to me is that the exemption involves a practical application of judgment - identifying people highly unlikely to pose a threat. Makes total sense. But then the same standard isn’t applied to regular people like the 99+% of us who only pose a threat at the BALLOT BOX not the BOARDING GATE.
No judgment with respect to us. It’s get back in line, shut your mouth, and do what your betters tell you. This is absolutely nuts.

That picture of the babe in negative black and white is a fake having nothing to do with the scanners. Your use of it as if it were real discredits your efforts.

I'm waiting for Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer to get a pass, but not Megyn Kelly or Greta Van Susteren.

I've been through those same FBI background checks. I believe that I've been through some that most Congressmen have never been through.
So, where's my pass?

FUBAR was a famous military term widely used during WWII. And the Dixie Chicks recently updated it during their war against Toby Keith with their infamous T-Shirt slogan: FUTK.
Someone on FR noted that it fit perfectly for FR’s attitude against Obama, FUBO. Stands for Fouled Up Barack Obama. Can alternately be used to mean Fouled Up Bill O’Really.
And so, until further notice I unabashedly proclaim before God and everyone, FUBO!!
Someone printed it out on a oval sticker and I proudly display it on my powerchair. Get a lot of compliments on it down at the VA.

Now, don’t tell me you do not know what the Sherlock touch is. And, no, it’s not dirty. Has to do with turning everything he touches to Shinola.
