A retired special education teacher on his way to a wedding in Orlando, Fla., said he was left humiliated, crying and covered with his own urine after an enhanced pat-down by TSA officers recently at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
“I was absolutely humiliated, I couldn’t even speak,” said Thomas D. “Tom” Sawyer, 61, of Lansing, Mich. Sawyer is a bladder cancer survivor who now wears a urostomy bag, which collects his urine from a stoma, or opening in his stomach. “I have to wear special clothes and in order to mount the bag I have to seal a wafer to my stomach and then attach the bag. If the seal is broken, urine can leak all over my body and clothes.”
On Nov. 7, Sawyer said he went through the security scanner at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. “Evidently the scanner picked up on my urostomy bag, because I was chosen for a pat-down procedure.”

Most of the TSA goons I’ve encountered appear to have an IQ just slightly higher than their shoe size.
I wouldn’t be surprised if their new porno-scanners damage or destroy some implantable medical devices.

This is so outrageous; seems like there are more and more stories about people being embarrassed and humiliated when their PRIVATE HEALTH ISSUES are being revealed by:
1. questionable equipment (do they save scans? do they emit dangerous amounts of radiation, aren’t there machines that do not expose so much nakedness?)
2. insensitive TSA staff—who is checking the background of the checkers???
3. gestapo-like policies—no sytematic policy for evaluating why someone is forced to have a pat down
I imagine there are many men and women with incontinence issues and women in their monthly cycles that are being publicly embarrassed or dreading flying in the next week. Like I said, this is outrageous, but also sad and wrong.
Probably not.
Next thing you know, they'll stop capitalizing "America".

Maybe it’s my imagination but it seems like every time I see one of these stories of abuse it is a white person being abused. White 3 year old little girls crying don’t touch me. White breast cancer survivor. White bladder cancer survivor. White woman throw across the airport and face planted into a table. Is it just me?

Medtronics site says if they detect your ITB pump on a scanner, just show them your “card.” Sure that’s going to work, LOL, this guy had a urostomy and they couldn’t figure it out, and that was an external appliance. What happens when they see a scar and they don’t know what’s under it, are they going to believe the “card.”
It’s disgusting to think they’re going to be harrassing people with medical conditions. There’s lots of people with pacemakers, medicine pumps, colostomy bags, urostomy bags, suprapubic catheters, etc. They’re going to spend all their time on the folks with medical devices and have no time for “real” terrorists.

I especially feel for folks who have to fly for their jobs - many of them don’t have much of a choice :(
My husband fly once a year in Feb. I hope this mess will be cleared up by then or we will be driving to Texas.

My point is that this new TSA policy is retaliation on the American people for voting out Democrats. If the Democrats hadn't been voted out, and instead retain solid control of both houses of Congress, the TSA wouldn't be implementing this new policy.
Obama's words place blame on the American people for his election losses. He criticized them for not being accustomed to government intrusion. So he is now embarking on a course of teaching us get used to government intrusion. We must resist this at all costs.
