Senator, here’s the reason that doesn’t fly. The FCC was created to monitor the public airwaves because of the limited availability of frequencies and the need to not have everybody’s signals bleeding into each other. Cable/satellite is not that way. There are now thousands of channels and nobody is forced to buy them or be exposed to them if they choose not to.
If you’re going to ban FNC and MSNBC, you should also ban HBO and all the other smut channels that couldn’t exist over the air. Not even the so-called Fairness Doctrine should apply to cable/satellite for the same reason.

Or people who don’t like FOX or PMSNBC can simply change the channel. For example, I was offended when Chrissie Mathews had pre-mature ejaculation over Bill Clinton. I changed the chanel. I am not longer offended.

I sure would like to see the FCC make a really really really good effort to do this. The more of this shit big gubmint trie to pull, the better our chances of another tea party landslide in two years.
