There are other executive positions besides President and VP. FDR got his as Assistant Secretary of the Navy. Others have served in cabinet positions (Secretary of State is often one). Eisenhower was military (still federal and executive). But it is more about EXECUTIVE experience than "federal" experience. Many with Federal POLITICAL experience have run (Senators and Congressmen), but not many have succeeded. State governors have often been tapped.
Hide and watch. She'll run rings around him on the campaign trail. The magic is gone from Obama -- we'll never again elect "our first black president".
And she'll know what to do when she arrives in the Oval Office. Like Reagan she has a set of clearly articulated objectives. And she has quick and decisive mind. She knows how to make decisions...and she won't be afraid of making them.
That is the essence of being an executive. She would command any board room in the country.
“BHO got exactly what he wanted. “
I guess that means he didn’t really want to bring the Olympics to Chicago. :)
Then again, maybe you should. It is alot of what we are fighting right now.
If she is so all-fired stupid, ignorant, helpless, gauche, and ditzy, why is she such a NAME to worry about? LOLOL! They can't make up their (hahahahaha!) minds.
BTTT
Phenomenal post. Madam President?
“they are clearly terrified”...enough to try to eliminate her?
I am praying that these mad leftists do not do a “Bobby Kennedy” on her.
It’s a woman’s turn in 2012.
Sounds like he's bought the MSM carp.
Well said!
Apples and oranges. Sarah's experience was executive, and not just at the gubernatorial level. Obama's was not.
I'm from Wisconsin and Paul Ryan is a Social Conservative!MORE PRO LIFE THEN YOU or you would have know ed that.
Palin has more Experience!
PALIN/RYAN 2012
“This first way of looking at the resignation is probably more complex than most people will take the time to consider.”
That is my point.
“A simpler way of understanding it is by looking backwards at it from the present. Would you rather have had Gov.Palin waste 18 months as a stalemated executive in Alaska or would you rather that she played the role she did in the 2010 elections”
Certainly those who would vote for her in a primary and general would agree she did the smart thing.
“and why is it that the people complaining about her resigning are the same ones that never wanted her as governor in the first place?”
I have seen comments by conservatives who would want her as governor, but oppose the resignation.
“This view also credits Gov. Palin with the degree of political insight that she has proven to possess.”
I agree the results, both her financial wellbeing, and political endorsements, are a strong reflection of her insight.
The remaining question is how it plays with the voters between the 40 yard lines—those any candidate must have to win.
Her unfavorables remain high, indicating she could win the primary, but perhaps not the general.
One could say its a reality show ABOUT ALASKA. Most people have zero knowledge about the state...Alaska even has a rain forest, I have been there....but how many americans know that...just an interesting side note, I never knew it until I visited it on my last trip to Alaska..
Sarah would benefit from a voice coach, who would teach her how to lower her voice. As it is now, her voice rises as she gets into her speeches, etc., and becomes almost like fingernails on a chalk board. Like Lauren Becall when she first went to Hollywood, learning to control that instrument works wonders. And Hillary had a voice coach the summer before she ran against Obama. No more ‘uh’s, and ‘you know’s’, lower voice. Much more polished. Same old witch, however.
Correct. But my point was that FDR "did" have experience as a federal executive other than president....not what he chose to do with it. There is no question that that experience plus similar experience at the state level (governor of New York) helped him get elected to the presidency.
Palin has EXACTLY the sort of experience "I" would prefer to see in a candidate...a progression from LOCAL government to State government to national government. She has seen and has "hands-on" experience at ALL levels of governance.
Just as I would like to see a similar progression of service at the legislative level (Congress). That is local to state to national. There is no more dangerous candidate than a "fair-haired boy" with NO experience running on name recognition and getting elected directly to "high" office. The learning curve is then very steep, and they have to make it in a single step.
Contrast Sarah's record as governor, for example, to that of Schwarzenegger. She accomplished more in two years than he has in his entire tenure.
Does anyone know who the Svengalis are behind Sarah Palin?
Oh, wait a minute, there doesn't appear to be anybody there!
Where did I doubt her intelligence. I just don’t think 20 months as governor of Alaska is proof positive of her executive abilities. I think as far as exec ability goes, Bobby Jindal has well surpassed Palin’s performance, and that of most other state execs. He’s also stood toe to toe against Obama in person.
