SAN DIEGO John Tyner won't be pheasant hunting in South Dakota with his father-in-law any time soon.
Tyner was simultaneously thrown out of San Diego International Airport on Saturday morning for refusing to submit to a security check and threatened with a civil suit and $10,000 fine if he left.
And he got the whole thing on his cell phone. Well, the audio at least.
The 31-year-old Oceanside software programmer was supposed to leave from Lindbergh Field on Saturday morning and until a TSA agent directed him toward one of the recently installed full-body scanners, Tyner seemed to be on his way.

I seriously doubt that he cares. It doesn't apply to him.
Free Republic is NOT a blog, it is a forum.
It has never been a blog.
It will never be a blog.
Regulation of the private enterprise is one thing. Regulation of the private enterprises CUSTOMERS is another.
You have still never answered my question. The TSA has admitted these scanners will not work for the stated purpose of these scans.
Seems unreasonable to me.

qwertypie <----------TSA?
That all shows you have knowledge and the understanding to use it wisely. It may be that the amounts of radiation are not problematic. But this is no way to rush to make the whole population the test set.
For example, the “skin scan” with either the backscatter x-ray or the terahertz may induce some condition in the skin or the whole body response that makes it more susceptible to the cosmic radiation in high flying jets. We do not know.
And how much tuning and adjustment or calibration sensitivity is there on these machines? I’m familiar with dental office x-ray machines, and there is a still a huge variance in dosage between the the dose you’ll cat in one office with a piss-poor maintained old machine, and a another with a state-of-the-art extremely low dose digital machine.
The web site CriminalDefenseLawyer.com paraphrases one state's law as follows. I have hi-lighted the sections I think apply to the TSA screenings:
In n Pennsylvania, sexual battery is codified in the law as indecent contact. According to the laws of Pennsylvania;A person who has indecent contact with the victim or causes victim to have indecent contact with the person is guilty of indecent assault if:
- the person does so without the complainant's consent;
- the person does so by forcible compulsion;
- the person does so by threat of forcible compulsion that would prevent resistance by a person of reasonable resolution;
- victim is unconscious or the person knows that the victim is unaware that the indecent contact is occurring;
- the person has substantially impaired the victim's power to appraise or control his or her conduct by administering or employing, without the knowledge of the victim, drugs, intoxicants or other means for the purpose of preventing resistance;
- the victim suffers from a mental disability which renders him or her incapable of consent;
- the victim is less than 13 years of age; or
- the victim is less than 16 years of age and the person is four or more years older than the victim and the victim and the person are not married to each other.
I’m curious as to what your point is.
>>Its called the Fourth Amendment start ASSERTING it. <<
Not applicable against the regulatory agency overseeing a private enterprise.
The only RIGHTS issue here is to have everyone treated the same. If muslim women get a pass below the neck, so do you and I.

Sorry — but that’s unmitigated BS. You mean “Inalienable Rights” granted by God are protected from Congress, but NOT from “regulatory agencies?” THAT’S ABSURD! I know that’s the way Washington DC has set it up to WORK — that’s ABSURD! AND — UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
Think what you want, no matter how misinformed.
That and $5 will get you a Starbucks Latte.
Couldn’t blame you. If you ever have to, just buy a postal money order and a stamped envelope and send it to yourself. That way you can at least cash it at your bank instead of letting some sticky fingered gov’t crook take it.
We only took carry on for that reason as our camera was in one. Hubby’s partial knee of course set off the bells and he had to be wanded. As a Retired Senior Chief (70 now) he did not take kindly to them touching pants buttons (metal)..made sure it was a plastic one coming back.

Ah, I just love the smell of condescension on a crisp fall evening...
Joke!!! And I’m not a “sir”
Were allowing our govt to grab our crotches and our childrens crotches .....if Mr pervy down the street did the same - he'd be rightly arrested.....the same goes for snapping nude pics of same
Disgusting. I don’t know when if ever I’ll next have to fly but I’m not looking forward to it. Either have to get a dose of radiation and have someone look at you or get felt up by some dude. What a choice.
But “necessary” despite zero successful acts of terrorism recently. Yeah sure.
