The Pentagon Tuesday said it was trying to determine if a missile was launched Monday off the coast of Southern California and who might have launched it.

John Pike knows what he’s talking about. He’s been an excellent source of information for a long time. One of the most accurate, credible open sources we have out there.
But I’m having a real tough time with this one. For the Pentagon, NORAD and the FAA to miss this seemingly obvious possibility for so long — while telling the public they have “no clue” — is impossible to wrap my mind around. I do hope he’s correct, though.
Hi, jboot!
We have to believe there's something more efficient than a few 40-year-old Nike missiles protecting the west coast. With the annual defense budget at $680 billion, I sure hope so.
Since it would be impossible for a foreign sub to get within the coast of Catalina, we have to wonder why the Navy would launch an ICBM on a sunny morning in November within miles of Disneyland?
Very weird.
“a SLBC launch” - LOL... shb SLBM
THAT is just the current big lie...
Or maybe they're competent enough not to reveal our capabilities.
(*Dons tin-foil hat*)
Maybe the military is toying with Obama because they don’t respect him, want to scare him and demonstrate his total incompetence to the general public.

“Oops, I meant “they” and not “we”, thanks.”

Hmmm, and you called me Special Ed. poster. ROFLMAOAY!
Given that an ICBM launch is subject to so many fail-safes that an accidental launch is presumably all-but-impossible, what we are left with is that what everyone saw, is exactly what everyone was supposed to see.
In other words, this time, and this location, for this event, were deliberately chosen to be witnessed by a huge number of people.
Why, of course, is another question. But complex answers are often revealed in steps.
So: This missile launch was supposed to be publically witnessed, and it was.
Whether or not it achieved it's goal is another thing. Where is it? And why, after making such a deliberate spectacle of it, is it now being denied as even being a missile?
Seems like it started out according to plan, and then something went wrong. Now, the spin is being spun. So what was the original intent? And what went wrong?
Nothing went wrong. It was an airplane. Now we know.
Folks, this could be very serious, as I’m sure most of you are aware.
Had this been a US drill, they would have shut down air travel and sent a VHF broadcast to mariners in the area telling them to clear out. Neither of these occurred.
If this was a nation or group testing a missile strike on the US, they would NOT need to be only 35 miles off the coast to hit a city like LA.
The logistics, however, are perfect for testing out a missile strike to launch an EMP.
All they need is one puny nuclear warhead on a container ship, park it about 50 miles off a coast of the US, send the nuke 200 miles straight up over the US, and detonate it.
THIS is how the most dangerous of all EMP strikes would occur.
The US government has been very cagey about what they tell us about the effects of an EMP. But to safe, assume we are sent back to the dark ages in a matter of hours.
And read my tagline.
especially since the airliner that left this contrail flew through there, as shown by its flightaware.com path..
If this is true that the Chinese shot a ballistic missle 35 miles off our coast then you’ll have reps and senators screaming shortly.
No way any country including ours tolerates that. It’s obviously an act of war. I’m not saying we will go to war but heads will roll and threats of a trade war or maybe more will commence.
Interestingly enough the “Smart Grid” is by-design EXTRAORDINARILY susceptible to EM interference (that is to say that it is virtually begging an EMP attack); conversely, ‘hardening’ the power transmission grid would make it utterly impossible to implement a ‘SmartGrid.’
I’m far more in favor of the second option: hardening the grid at the future ‘expense’ of eliminating any possibility of the “smartgrid” ever being implemented. Having said that, it is all too possible that those in power want the opposite, after all a significant portion of them believe things like “global overpopulation” and “anthropogenic global ‘climate change’” to be settled/unquestionable fact.
I completely agree. The elitists routinely kill off the masses when it suits their purpose.
Nothing dumber than a “smart grid.”
As I later revised my comments, here:

... the NOTAM I posted pertained to the airport in Victorville (VCV), not to any offshore activity west of Los Angeles.
I learned quite a bit researching it, though.
If it was China, the range will be set so that one could swing a compass from the launch point and cover the entire lower 48. I predict they will wait until President Obummer makes some feeble attempt at a cover story, then they will show the world video of the sub crew launching the missile, along with surface video taken from nearby pleasure vessels capturing the SLBM broaching the surface, along with telemetry data and video of it in the landing zone.
This is a people who are developing GPS guided nuclear weapons, which have only one purpose, first strike. They have more than just EMP weapons, they favor the one weapon Jimmy Caddaa killed, the neutron warhead. Besides their national pride,...they are looking for wives.
Sure a lot of opinions going down. All I will say is I have seen many vertical contrails over the years.
