Well...Rove was right.

His point has always been that you cannot elect conservative candidates in left-wing states. A Senator is supposed to be a represenative of the people that elected him/her. That’s why Scott Brown might not be as far to the right as you thought or want...because Massachusetts is a liberal state.

Delaware is a liberal state. The only chance a Republican has in that state is if he/she is a moderate. That’s just simply a product of the population in question.

Hey Karl!
How about explaining Kirk losing in IL.
Buck losing in CO.
Raese losing in WV.
Toomey losing in PA.

Why don’t you tell us what you and the RNC are doing to battle vote fraud?!?!?

He didn’t defeat her. She defeated herself. “I am not a witch. I’m you.” How dumb. It’s sophomoric. She needs to get seasoned as a politician. Rove was right.

Christine had a right to assume that she could count on the support of Rove on the night that she won the primary. Instead of support, Rove tripped her right out of the starting gate for the general election.

Given the challenges she faced, Christine ran one hell of a race.

Rove, for his part, disgraced himself. And, it won't be forgotten by a whole lot of people who once supported him.

Eh, not so much, rove at the end of the day is “right” Castle probably would have won in DE, however, what Roves is missing is that out here in the rank and file, we like to have our views represented as well in Candidates.

Win or lose, someone has to still stand up for consistent principles, that is the one thing that has been lost to Rove.

You cannot blame Rove for that.
O’Donnell was a bad choice

Sarah Palin mentioned on FOX that exit polling in Delaware showed that Castle would have lost the Senate seat to Coons.

For whatever reason, the voters in Delaware prefer the Bearded Marxist over O’Donnell or Castle.

RE :”Rove is glad that the Republicans are winning big tonight. That’s all it is. I find it absurd for some to get incensed because Rove did what he is hired to do: tell the truth. Political analysis is just that — opinion based on facts, not a personal slam of the candidate. I would lose confidence in a political commentator who tried to tickle my ears rather than tell it straight.

There is something bigger going on with this reaction you see. I hate Rove but this whining on a great night is silly.

COD had one hell of an uphill battle with this race, a longshot, and it turns out she couldn't pull it off. They need to move on. Sharon Angle did one hell of a job turning her campaign around to take the fight right to Reid, let's cross our fingers on that race, that trophy win would make it Christmas.

Rove helped a lot of candidates nationwide with his American Crossroads organization.
Other than his awful and unnecessary behavior on primary night regarding O’Donnell ( which wounded her deeply IMHO ),
his org spent millions running ads for Republicans and conservatives across the country ,
so he’s not going anywhere.
In fact, the wins tonight in races he helped,
probably make him a bigger player.

Jedidah: “That’s all Rove did to O’Donnell. He pointed out that she was a weak candidate, and she was.”

NO HE DID NOT. He listed a litany of her “faults” in the worst possible light (several times) and totally disregarded mitigating evidence. He didn’t just say she was a weak candidate. He gave her opponent’s talking points, and in point of fact, some of the things he listed were false.

You know, I really despise McCain, but look through my posts here and you will NOT see me bashing him after he won the nomination. He was our nominee. As much as I dislike him, YOU DO NOT TEAR DOWN YOUR OWN TEAM. That’s what Rove did. He’s despicable!

I often thought he (and Scott McClellan) had a lot to do with Bush dropping in the polls.

and it turns out she couldn't pull it off.

And one of the main reasons she couldn't "pull it off" was that Karl Rove stuck his big foot out and tripped her up the day she won the primary.

That matters and deserves to be mentioned.

Rove took me down big time when he made the comment about O'Donnell. I really wish he had only said she will have a very tough time of it and left it at that. To say she could ruin the chances of republicans retaking the senate was really uncalled for at that time because it set her up so terribly.

But he DID speak what he thought based on his hard liner facts and he was doing his job. Perhaps he has been asked by FOX not to show bias but to speak only to what he knows based on the facts he has on hand.

He is smart. And he was a tremendous help to President Bush. The LEFT HATED HIM. HATED. HATED. HATED.

I believe he did his job. I just wish he had curtailed it a bit.

We should try corresponding with him. Perhaps he will hear our opinions. We NEED Karl Rove to help us in our drive to force our elected officials to work within the bounds of our constitution.

babble-on: “If Angle loses in NV, then the Tea Party really will have proven itself to be poison to the goal of removing leftists from the Senate.”

Right, and that’s why the RINO candidates like Mark Kirk did so well... /s

So, Rove was right because the Republican helped helped lead the Republican opposition to lost in a liberal state?

Rove did not predict it - he fought for it. And he expects you and I to shut up sit down and enjoy the establishment RINOS as they crawl to socialism and be happy they are not running towards it like the Dems.

You might be a RINO if you’ve cut off your trunk and bolted a horn on your forehead. You might be a RINO if you have to wear a Whig to cover your hairless hide.

Linda McMahon was an establishment candidate in CT. She Lost.
Kirk was a RINO candidate in IL. He may lose. Does that also mean they were poor candidates? No, it means no party wins EVERY Race. I’m sad that both lost. (Delaware and CT).

This election was a great start.

I agree with Palin supporting COD but really think she had a steep climb, Rove or no Rove.

I see Rove as the one who told Bush to support Spector over Toomey in 1994 something that really urked me. Rove just wants to win seats, he would support Hillary over COD if Hillary changed parties. His approach to this now (winning with a few RINOS) is very short-sighted.

jerry557: “Delaware is a liberal state. The only chance a Republican has in that state is if he/she is a moderate.”

Ah, the mushy moderates are coming out of the woodwork tonight!

Mark Kirk is a moderate/centrist running in a liberal state. He did WORSE than O’Donnell. I guess we’ll never know if a conservative can win a true Republican versus Democrat race in Delaware, since conservatives not only have to beat the Democrats and a hostile media (whose hatred increases in relation to one’s conservatism). Conservative also have to overcome the RINO naysayers, too.
