Giants win the Series! Giants win the Series!

Go ahead, say it. It's no longer mere fantasy or sheer folly to do so. A rare mix of veteran rejects and budding stars completed an unlikely ascent to the Major League summit Monday night, allowing all to repeat a five-word phrase never before heard:

World Series champion San Francisco Giants. The Giants made franchise history with a 3-1 triumph over the Rangers in Game 5 of the World Series, ignoring their underdog status to capture the 106th Fall Classic, four games to one.

An unlikely hero combined with a likely one to elevate San Francisco to new heights.

The Rangers didn't get to the WS by having an idiot manager. He taught them to play a game much different from the game they've been playing for years. I don't recall ever seeing the Rangers play this good on defense. When they did well in the 90s it was because they out-hit everyone. And we know how far into the playoffs they went then. This years' strategy got them past the Rays and yanks.

"We did a lot of firsts for this organization. We were the second-best team in the big leagues. We should be proud of that. We’re going to use this for motivation and come in next year and try to do better." - Cliff Lee

And yes ... they certainly do need some depth in the bullpen. No doubt about that. Perhaps having Nolan here will help.

It's not enough we lose the world series to Pelosi’s team, or that Jones still hasn't figured out he sucks as a GM, or our ThugBall franchise owner uses his wealth to finance anti-American propaganda films, or our hockey team is for sale...you gotta dis our crap-brown Trinity River water?

Knock it off or we'll replace Kay Bailey with the Bush Twins as the first co-Senators. You've been warned.

You’re right, he’s not an idiot. I’m just still laughing at his decision to pitch to Renteria with 1st base open. His management style fits the AL very well, but the NL is a different animal altogether. Congrats on a big year, now on to hockey season!! Go Sharks!

Mr. Lee, you are sadly mistaken. You may in fact reach the World Series next year. The result will be the same. Our starting rotation Lincecum, Cain, Sanchez, Bumgarner and Zito are all under control for a long, long time. Posey will be back and 1 year better. The Panda will visit a Jenny Craig and return to his 2009 glory. Sabean will have a fistfull of cash and an eye for Carl Crawford or perhaps Jason Werth to fortify the order. The Giants’ time is here! (and it’s about time) To quote Juan Uribe, “It’s a lot of happy”.
I can’t wait for the parade tomorrow

That was all Cliff Lee right there. Even Molina was telling him he should throw breakers to Renteria and if he walks, he walks. Lee pretty much said thanks, but no thanks. Oops.

Thanks.
Hopefully the election results will make tomorrow twice as nice. 52 years is a long time. I’m not that old so I’ve only had to endure the last 22 years of disappointments and almosts. Hope to see your Yanks for the show next year.

52 years is a long time. I read it was the lowest watched WS of all time is that true? Yanks need some work but I can't wait for spring. I am obsessed with baseball and have nothing to watch from now until spring! VICTORY TONIGHT!

Yeah, your right. He’s such a POS that he’s won two consecutive Cy Young awards, and now owns a World Series Championship - all within the last three years. What have you accomplished in the last three years that tops his feat??? You need help.

. . . Fox was clearly favoring the Giants, . . .

I didn't see it this way. The broadcasters (of whom I also do not like) were constantly talking about how SF wasn't suppose to match up well with the Ranger's Pitching or batting. Even after the end of game 5 these two buffoons were dissing on the Giants as a team of misfits, cast-off's, etc.

I suspect that the Rangers will be back in the hunt next year. That's a very talented club.

Nobody does, but that may change if Pelosi’s ass is kicked out.
