The father tells FOX25 the school compared the stunt to bringing a “loaded firearm” to school and that he and his wife were shocked to hear about the suspension, saying that the 1100-pound horse, named Pierre, would never hurt a fly.

Yes, safety is the first concern of a school system that teaches that things like sodomy, “fisting”, “gerbilling”, cacophagy, and “golden showers”, are perfectly safe as long as there’s a condom involved somewhere, perhaps on yonder banana.

Just to give a flavor of the town, the Myopia Hunt Club is located in Hamilton and is the only place I know of in MA where one can see polo matches.

What he, and his parents, thought was a good-natured stunt, the school deemed dangerous. Depaolis was suspended from school for two days.

Yeah right. What he REALLY was going to do was bring the horse up to Dean Wormer's office and....

Well, you know.

I tend to disagree with schools most of the time. However, I wonder if they have a clear rule against bringing live animals to school. If so, he should have gotten permission.

Of course, he should have gotten permission anyway. And I’m surprised the parents didn’t think to ask the school before allowing him to take the horse there. The only reason not to ask is if you think there is something wrong with it.

But I still don’t think a 2-day suspension makes sense. Ask the kid what he was thinking, and when you find out he THOUGHT it was a good idea, give him a warning and some detention, let him clean up the parking lot or something, and be done with it.

My daughter got suspended a few weeks ago for giving the wrong answer on a hypothetical psych question about “what would you do if you could get away with it and there would be no consequences?”. Apparently the “right” answer was things like “Rob a Bank” or “hijack a snack truck” or “have sex in school”.

The “wrong” answer was “Mass Murder”. Even if you are in teh biotech specialty program and the school sent you to the FBI to learn about serial killers and you are studying to be a forensic scientist and solve mass murders.

When horses are made illegal only illegals will have horses!

What a load of uber-Liberal crap. It is good in a way. The more the Libs expose themselves like this, the more they are HATED.

More “Zero Intelligence” policies from a school. This is no longer a surprise.

I think Tea Partiers need to expand their scope from office-holding politicians to the politically correct institutions that are destroying what little is left of our culture.

You are all missing the point. It isn’t a live animal or deadly weapon. It is the fact that he dressed in medieval garb, like a CRUSADER. He might have offended some Moslems.

Most likely, this was all about the liability.

So, on one hand, the student can have a little fun. On the other hand, some other student starts having a sneezing attack, decides they are allergic to horses, and sues the school. Terrified of lawsuits, the school district agrees to settle for $75,000, instead of going to trial, and fires the principal.

Some lawyer gets $70,000 of the settlement, and every student has to take a mandatory class in “why horses are bad.”

The words “fun” and “school” are no longer found in the same sentence, unless a lawsuit is involved. And you know who to blame.

Golly, look at the picture.

Loopy leftwing posters at the fox site are attempting to insist that it wasn’t really about the horse as the school told the young man, but about the sword - only, as we see - there was no sword.

Maybe they meant the spoon?

no, wait, there is no spoon.

Note: "Horse riding teen" <> "Horse-riding teen".

I opened thread expecting a Tiajauna Donkey Show story. Fail.

The kid was just trying to bring the horse’s head count and the horse’s ass count a bit closer to parity, percentage wise.

only outlaws will have horses.
