Tom Dart won't run for Chicago mayor
Chicago Sun-Times ^ | October 27, 2010 | ABDON M. PALLASCH and RUMMANA HUSSAIN

In a stunning turnaround, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart has decided not to run for mayor of Chicago.

Dart cited family responsibilities for his decision, saying he thinks he would be a great mayor and was confident that, had he run, he would have won.

But he said he decided it would be "impossible" for him to be mayor and also manage the responsibilities of being a father and husband.

To be mayor means to "be less of a father," Dart said at a news conference Wednesday.

"This time, it's not something that would work for my family," said Dart, who has five children.

To be mayor means to "be less of a father,"

Maybe....did he - by association - just say Rahmn would be a lousy father?

Me thinks that the Rahmbama thugs got to him.

Emmanuel wants to be Mayor so damned bad , and is totally in with the Chicago thugs, so I doubt it was a payoff that caused Dart to pull out of this race.

Just my observance of things Chicago.

One article says the list of candidates has dwindled since Rahm came to Town AND the candidate will be a consensus...which means...why bother with elections...

Which conservative or Republican will run for mayor of Chicago? I asked Dan Proft and Rosanna Pulido to run, but they won’t do it.

I don’t think Rahmbo is running. I recently read he renewed his lease on his DC condo. I think there is something bad going on in Chitown that has candidates reevaluating if being Mayor out there would be good.

Daley stepping down out of the blue was my first sign. The WH does not have that amount of influence on things anymore. We are getting half the story here.

Family responsibilities

means

he wants to live with his family

rather than be buried with his family.

We The People have GOT to get a handle on corruption.

Allowing the 2nd Amendment to arm every person who wants to carry a gun would go a long way to achieving a ‘handle’ on corrupt individuals. Especially in Chicago.

“Officer, I felt threatened by ________ and I shot him.”

“No charges filed, then.”

“Take you gun and continue your life.”

Verne ("Mini-Me") Troyer has a better chance of beating LaBron James in a game of one-on-one than a conservative has of winning in Chicago.

Corruption is one of the jackals that is eating the life out of our nation, out of the world. The battle against it must take on the nature of a crusade. Burn it out!

I agree that a conservative can’t win, but I hope that one of them will run, to increase his or her name recognition for a race for the U.S. House or state senate, in 2012. Since the district lines will be redrawn, next year, we don’t know where the districts will be.

Wow, incredible. Rahm’s competition is dropping out of the Chicago Mayor campaign. Wonder how much someone got paid? Sounds like corruption in Chicago - again.
