The Democrats are on the verge of a historical defeat

The Democrats are on the verge of a historical defeat. Just two years ago, the party seemed to be forging a majority governing coalition. It controlled Congress, key governorships and many state legislatures. And with the 2008 election of President Obama, the Democrats occupied the White House.

Democrats had a golden opportunity to build an enduring pragmatic liberalism upon the Republican rubble.

They blew it. Instead of focusing on economic recovery, job creation and winning the war on terrorism, the Obama administration used its massive congressional majorities to expand government power.

Mr. Obama is a radical ideologue. He chose socialism over pragmatism, remaking America rather than reviving it.

Yet, as the media coronated him the new leftist emperor, his subjects grew restless under Democratic imperial rule. Mr. Obama has alienated Middle America for one simple reason: His policies are bleeding the country white. They are breaking the nation's back.

It comes out of me when people start to gloat. Gloating comes after you win, not before.

Let’s play a drinking game. Only instead of drinking, everytime you hear the word “overconfident”, donate a small amount to a conservative everyone says can’t win.

I am waiting for “Shock and Awe” this November.

Defeat is defined in many ways. For the left losing at the polls is meaningless, it’s a bourgeois fixation. They have already laid the foundation for the kind of regimen they want and it will take us years to undo if at all. The fact is that while we will win this election, they will still be entrenched in the institutions that count. Forever sabotaging our efforts to undo their destruction and continuing to brainwash our children via the educational system. We may find this victory will make us feel good for 5 minutes after the election only to find out that they still have the veto via the president and over the next two years their programs will metastasize making it impossible for us to reverse the process. They planned well.

Agree. I have seen too much optimism here over the years and elections. And too many tears the days after.

And too many cheers the day after elections with tears two years later.

The Democrats may well be on the verge of a historical defeat.

It does not follow, however, that the Republicans are necessarily on the verge of a historic victory. For a victory to be historic, requires that the party in power actually accomplish something of lasting import.

And that ... is far from certain.

“Just look at them scurrying back to the “center” for the election.”

Only those who are in trouble are attempting that.

For the first time in my life, I can’t see any possible good outcome for them.

They have either, declared themselves, or “outted” themselves.

Whatever it takes...

“Most Americans still despise communists.”

I despise them, too. However, there’s an entire generation, or two, who are eligible to vote, and who have no idea about life under communism, much less what the word means.

Education is so important now, and just look at our public education system, and who runs it.

You make a very good point, I’m sorry to say, except for one thing...this country isn’t as leftist as the media protrays it to be.

In fact, this is a center right country, but we’re hearing the leftist garbage from the media.

Tank their ratings, and see what happens!

In fact, watch the influence they’ve had over most of the country on November 2!

I don’t know where to put these..........

History of Uncounted military votes:

2008:

“Six million American citizens abroad were qualified to vote in the 2008 Presidential election. It is estimated that one-fourth of all military votes were not counted. At least, 98,000 lost military ballots were mailed back to the U.S. but not counted. See photos and a video” at link.”

“WASHINGTON — One out of every four military personnel and other Americans living abroad may have been thwarted in their efforts to vote in the 2008 election because of communications and bureaucratic problems, according to a congressional report released Wednesday.”

2004:

“CHICAGO WANTS UNIFORM MILITARY VOTING STANDARDS
Tuesday, September 28, 2004

CHICAGO — Chicago election officials have written President Bush (search) asking him to push for a law to extend the deadline for states to receive absentee ballots (search) sent by members of the military.

As many have experienced, the military mail service can be very slow, and state officials are concerned that their ballots won’t get counted if they are postdated on time but not received before the results are certified.
Chicago officials say they want to make the deadline for every state 14 days after the election.”

“Pennsylvania Soldiers Sue To Have Their Vote Counted”

“It shouldn’t be particularly surprising that the “count every vote” Democrats don’t support counting every military vote - they didn’t in 2000 and don’t in 2004. They’re busy fighting to get the illegal votes of illegal aliens and convicted felons counted, but not the members of our armed services.”

NOVEMBER 02, 2004

“Louisiana | Military Vote Problems Reported
Radio talk host Moon Griffon reported on his statewide show this morning that he has received reports from some Louisiana citizens deployed for military service in Afghanistan and Iraq claiming that absentee ballots they received only showed the statewide amendments up for vote. These ballots did not contain presidential or congressional races.”

2000:

“According to the Associated Press, 30 percent of military voters who requested absentee ballots in 2000 did not receive them in time to have their vote counted. In 2000, roughly 250,000 military voters applied to vote absentee. Now, with hundreds of thousands of additional troops posted in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, the number of military personnel interested in voting absentee is expected to soar. Nearly 350,000 applications had already been requested as of mid-July.”

Just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean you aren’t being watched.
I agree with you. SEIU, ACORN, Weather Underground, NBC etc haven’t launched their October Surprise yet.
Personally I will be at the polls on “free cigarettes and beer day” looking for paid workers handing out those free cigarettes and beer.
ps. When do you think all the votes will be counted?
Nov. 3rd
Dec. 3rd
Sometime in 2011

When my Father was a kid in New Jersey, the Democrats would walk down the street on Election Day and pay people five bucks for their vote.

That was back in the 30’s when five bucks was a days wages.
