The Democrats are on the verge of a historical defeat

The Democrats are on the verge of a historical defeat. Just two years ago, the party seemed to be forging a majority governing coalition. It controlled Congress, key governorships and many state legislatures. And with the 2008 election of President Obama, the Democrats occupied the White House.

Democrats had a golden opportunity to build an enduring pragmatic liberalism upon the Republican rubble.

They blew it. Instead of focusing on economic recovery, job creation and winning the war on terrorism, the Obama administration used its massive congressional majorities to expand government power.

Mr. Obama is a radical ideologue. He chose socialism over pragmatism, remaking America rather than reviving it.

Yet, as the media coronated him the new leftist emperor, his subjects grew restless under Democratic imperial rule. Mr. Obama has alienated Middle America for one simple reason: His policies are bleeding the country white. They are breaking the nation's back.

Argh. It’s historic, not historical. And it should be “an”, not “a”.

I am in political overdrive. I can't get enough.

I just hope and prayer it turns out as good as we expect, or better!

I mailed my ballot a couple of days ago. Now I want “historic”.

Guys, we must not get overconfident. Vote like you are the only one voting. Crawl over that broken glass. If you have a few extra dollars, give it to a conservative that needs a few dollars.

I would LOVE to see Barney Frank tossed out on his arrogant butt. He is responsible for SO much of this economic mess and he puts it off on everyone else. There are not many people in Congress that need to be kicked out as badly as he does, except for maybe the Witch Pelosi who rammed her disgusting HC bill down our throats.

(We’ve already gotten some of our raises. My current estimation is, it’s going to cost my family at least $200 a month extra for our HC ins. And that’s if we are really lucky)

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I won't believe any of this until the Election is over and the votes are counted.

The more excited we become, the more reason the Democrats will be compelled to get out and vote for their little Marxist heroes.

In the meantime, I will Hope for real Change in November.

Very good article IMHO.
May I submit that the grievences listed within are akin to those listed against King George, given a different context, but with the same objective of subugation of the many people for the benefit of a few.

The Tea Party may just be the beginning of something more profound. Restoration of the Republic also mandates the de-infestation of subversives in important institutions such as education from school boards to university regents and professors, government worker unions, and even in military command, and federal agencies and departments, such as State, HUD, DEA, ,,, etc

This focus on President Obama is misguided. He is NOT solely responsible for the mess we’re in. Blame rightly belongs to every Democrat and not a few Republicans in the US Congress, with a dishonorable mention going to liberal activist judges.

Given the anger throughout the country, I don’t think either of you have anything to worry about.

If the anger was going to abate, it would have happened some time ago. Instead, it’s growing with every passing day.

Argh. It’s historic, not historical.

Correct.

And it should be “an”, not “a”.

Incorrect.

You’re right...the focus on Obama is misguided. However, his election opened the doors wide for progressives, liberals, communists, socialists, Marxists, etc.

Just look at what came out of the woodwork...in the bright of day...at the One Nation Rally. I’ve never seen them so open and in your face in my life!

Argh. It’s historic, not historical. And it should be “an”, not “a”.

On the first, you might be correct.

On the second, "a" historic, or "a" historical, is correct, unless the "h" is silent, which it is NOT in "history", or "historic", or "historical", or "happy", or "Hispanic", or "hound", or "human".

Correct would be, "an" hour, or "an" honor, because the "h" is silent.

Ignorant journalists pretend otherwise. They are wrong.

Some pre-Webster documents contain "an historic", simply because some dialects back then did not pronounce the "h" sound in historic, and people wrote it as if speaking.

I’m with you on that. Don’t count the chickens before they hatch is just as valid now as it ever was.

I expect some very dirty tricks in the next few weeks. We have to be ready for anything, because the Dems have proven time and time again that they will resort to ANYTHING to hold on to power.

It IS rather amazing how openly Marxist they are now. I’m actually happy they have revealed themselves for what they are. Just look at them scurrying back to the “center” for the election.

Leftists MUST hide their true agenda to be elected. Most Americans still despise communists. I know I do.
