Biden riles the crowd: 'Youre the dullest audience Ive ever spoken to' By Jordan Fabian - 10/07/10 02:48 PM ET
Vice President Joe Biden got a laugh from his audience at a Wisconsin fundraising event Thursday when he tried to rile the crowd about the economic collapse of 2008.
We want to reward people who manufacture things in the United States, in Wisconsin, not to take them overseas to China and to other countries! he said to a silent room at the event for Democratic gubernatorial nominee Tom Barrett, according to a White House pool report.
He continued, saying Youre the dullest audience Ive ever spoken to," at which point he got applause and laughs. "Do you realize how many jobs Wisconsin lost? Its staggering!"
Biden and President Obama have made frequent campaign stops in recent weeks in an attempt to jolt Democrats who are lagging Republicans in voter enthusiasm measures, in part due to the slowing pace of the economic recovery under the administration's watch.
Biden's appearance Thursdsay was in the Wisconsin's state capital Madison, which hosted a crowd of 26,000 to see President Obama speak at rally targeted at young voters the week before.
The vice president has argued at previous that Democrats have begun to reverse the momentum that had them sliding to large losses on Election Day. He has also taken several pointed shots at the GOP, jokingly saying this week that he would "strangle" Republicans who talk about the deficit.
On Thursday, he took a jab at the House GOP's "Pledge to America," governing agenda.
The pledge half baked
folks, weve been in that oven before," he said. "This pledge is a threat to America."
talking to himself.
Get rid of the unions....you can’t have it both ways.....
He acts all the way baked that’s for sure.
Well,he may be the leading national expert on ideas that are half-baked.
Insulting your audience is hardly a good speech technique.
Joe the Schmoe must have forgotten to put on the jester’s cap he usually wears to these dumb Dem affairs.
I see Biden as big time asset.
To the GOP the next 26 days...
His political strategy is to impoverish voters with bad policies and then insult them on the campaign trail?
“We ruined the economy, but I’ve still got these hackneyed talking points. You dull clods. Cheer. You always have before. Didn’t you hear me say China? We like Wisconsin and hate China. Cheer you *&^%s. What’s wrong with you.”
I think Biden is a thug. He’s a criminal and a lying psycopath that just happened to end up in politics.
That statement is pretty hard to square with your party's approach to tax and regulation there Joe.
Biden should note that his audience knows damn well who is getting the blame for the loss of jobs in WI...Diamond Jim Doyle.
Even the D’s in this State have 1% of non idiocy...
Biden riles the crowd: ‘Youre the dullest audience Ive ever spoken to’
What a coincidence!!
Given the crowd that was in the room, no wonder they were silent. I guarantee none of them knows anyone who "manufactures things". Nor would they want to reward them in any way.
It would be funny to see them pull him off the stage and hand over hand like in some wild concert just toss him above the crowd until they had tossed him out the door.
How dull would that be?
“dull” ping...
Hey Joe, balance the budget!
*”Do you realize how many jobs Wisconsin lost? Its staggering!” *
Yes, and I bet most of those jobs that were lost disappeared soon after the Dems took congress in 2007
Then why is your administration taxing and regulating US manufacturers to death, Biden?
I think I see the problem. What he meant was, "We want to tax as much as possible reward people who manufacture things in the United States, in Wisconsin, not let them escape our power by going to take them overseas to China and to other countries!
BTW, Biden, thanks for reminding people about the massive job losses brought to them by the 2006 Demscum Congress and your administration!
Finally, where does Biden get off calling anyone else unhinged? LOL!
