The operative word is "terrific". In common use "terrific" is good, but the real meaning of the word is derived from the root word, "terror".

The last time I heard a pol call someone "terrific" is was Bob Kerrey speaking of Hillary Clinton: "We think the first lady is terrific."

Same deal here. Jarrett is a commie in her own right, but she knows a psycho who's conflicted between his own inner ballerina and mobster when she sees one, and she thinks he's terrific.

I think her dilemma might be (in addition to any behind-closed-doors offenses rahm-the-tutu-man might have cast her way) that there are two back dudes also running, Jesse-the-Felon Jackson Jr, and a local pol named Meeks. She wants to keep her options open, her bread buttered on both sides, all while making rahm sweat just a bit.

P.S.....I've been saying all along that Rahm was FIRED! I was the FIRST on FR to say this....that he didn't leave of his own volition and was thrown long-distance under a Chicago El train.

Since Valerie Jarrett was created from Obama's rib, the fact that she's not endorsing Emanuel bears this out.

I think you are right. Why would RE extend the lease on his Chicago “residence” days before Daley announced he would not seek reelection? And, did his family just move to DC, with the kids changing schools?

We have an inside source in his nascent campaign who describes the attitude of the staff Emanuel already has as “delusional”.

Well, so much for Rahm’s chances. Pelosi may be a bigshot in the House, but her word is worth nothing in Chicago. It’s all up to Mayor Daley and the Chicago mob. And Valerie Jarrett is a member in good standing of that mob.

Well, I’m sure Rahm has a goodly fortune stashed away by this time, and he can always return to ballet.
