CNN released this statement today:
“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“
They will broadcast CNN Newsroom from 3-5pm for the foreseeable future.
Here’s more from the story earlier today: CNN’s Rick Sanchez is not happy with being made fun of constantly on The Daily Show and Colbert Report. It is from this jumping off point that he absolutely unleashed on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, and at times his own network, on Pete Dominick’s satellite radio show yesterday.
The big takeaway – Sanchez calls Stewart “a bigot,” then walks it back a bit, and he implies CNN is run by Jews.
The way Rick was talking, it was a severe hardship that he had to endure, not knowing English as a child. Because, you know, Jon Stewart was living the high life as a Jooooooooooish child and had all the breaks in life, and poor widdle Wicky had to fight and claw for everything he ever had! < sobs >
One of the posters elsewhere suggested he was speaking out of his own insecurity. I think that’s true.

he has a beef with Stewart and what he sees as liberal Jews (odd coming from Mr Emotive lib crybaby of the universe)
that is not anti-semetic by default...I think around 80% of Jews are social liberals..at least.. and they do have a very strong but not 100% controlling position(s) in the American media and Hollywood

I am surprised this comment wasn't deleted. It should be. This is the type of comment that will be all over the MSM as "proof" that all freepers are racist bigoted hate mongers. They try (and get away with in MSM coverage) this with the Tea Party.
I have absolutely no love lost for Rick Sanchez, but you just insulted our brother and sister Hispanic freeper with that bigoted term.

Gutfield showed some tsunami footage with Sanchez last night. I had forgotten what an idiot Sanchez was. I really liked when he pointed to the Galapagos Islands on the map and said this is Hawaii right! He was combative and a fool. Now he is on the street where he belongs.
