Police in Santa Fe are searching for the suspect or suspects in a drive-by shooting that killed a pet goat.
Santa Fe Police Chief Aric Wheeler says his agency is extremely concerned because the shooting happened in a central city neighborhood. Besides animal cruelty charges, Wheeler tells the Santa Fe New Mexican that the suspect could face felony charges of shooting at an occupied building and negligent firearm use.

On a semi-serious note: Did no one catch the irony of the enhanced police concern regarding the killing of a goat in a mid-town neighborhhod, but none over actually RAISING said goat in a mid-town neighborhood?

They sure do and my two pygmy goats are adorable pets. I trained mine with oatmeal. They love grain, but it’s not good for them in large amounts. Anyway, someone shoots at them and I’m thinking they were actually aiming at me so game on.
My sister kept goats for a long time. They do have character and personality, don’t they? And to keep a piece of otherwise undeveloped land somewhat groomed, it’s the only way to go.
