Washington (CNN) - "America's Toughest Sheriff" Joe Arpaio passed on running for governor earlier this year, but the Arizona lawman who has become a national figure for his tough stand on illegal immigration is not closing the door on a presidential run in 2012.

Joe, I saw your work in Arizona when I was a resident there. I admire you and wish you success.

Yes the MSM and the rest of the progressives would hate it.

Sounds like a liberal had its worst nightmare and put it on paper.

Not that Joe wouldn't make a great president, but I would like the executive team of Palin/West (also a liberal nightmare)to select him for head of Homeland Security or Attorney General.

Libs would not be able to sleep for at least four years....

I would vote for him in a heartbeat because one of the first things he would do is resolve the border problem’s and the illegal problem’s. He is a leader unlike what we have now and I believe he would reverse most of what bo has put in place.
Sheriff Joe is the Chesty Puller type.( For those that do not
know: General Chesty Puller was the best combat officer... ever.) I believe from all that I have read about Sheriff Joe, he is exactly what this country needs in every respect and I pray he goes for it. “GO JOE”!!!

The skill set he has that makes him a good Sheriff is not a good fit for POTUS. He makes noise every four years about running for Governor, and is astounded at how many people who think he’s a great Sheriff think he’d be a lousy Governor.

I agree with them, and say, “No thanks Joe!” to this idea of a Presidential run. Please.

Every time somebody does something good, everybody wants to run them for President. No.

My parents are snowbirds and live in an area known as a county island - though they claim they are technically in Maricopa county. My Dad donates to SPLC and they (SPLC) send out a newsletter occasionally. My father claims that the SPLC has featured Michelle Bachman 3 times as somebody to “look out for” because she is too extreme (patriotic). If you hadn’t guessed, my parents are lifelong Dems. Both are AFSCME retirees having been state workers their whole career (or at least the bulk of it). I love my parents, but can’t stand their politics - they make the claim that Joe Arpaio has been involved in shady lawsuits that are retaliatory in nature vs. some of the other city council or personnel because they questioned Joe’s veracity on something or another. I couldn’t get any specifics out of them, but they claimed it was last year this occurred three times. Perhaps you can enlighten me since you are in the trenches there. I’d love to get more specifics on what they are talking about so I can see for myself.

TIA for any help.

PS. we would love to have Joe as sheriff in our area of MN! Please let us have him as president :)

I admire the man enormously but a leap from County Sheriff to POTUS is far too big.The only jobs that at least come close to qualifying one to be POTUS are Governor,Senator (for far longer than the 100 days Hussein was in the Senate),Speaker of the House,Secretary of State,Secretary of Defense, military General or Admiral...IMO.

If Sheriff Joe truly has Presidential ambitions he should first shoot for the Governor's chair or the Senate.

He’s the polar opposite of zer0.
Which means, if he ran, the libtards would go positively ape. They’d come out in numbers and stuff ballot boxes nationwide. Joe would not have a chance.

"Palin is brilliant regarding energy but don;t know if she should be the top ticket. I keep changing my mind on this."

Palin has stood strong for three years against everything the Bolshevik JournOlist media has thrown at her. The fact that she is so reviled by these leftist pukes makes her the perfect choice.

Sadly....right now, what would make her the perfect choice is if Independents get as jazzed about her as you are.

“Yes the MSM and the rest of the progressives would hate it.”

Music to our ears. Of course, the real problem would be the progressive RINO opposition, and Steele’s RNC.

This is one candidate who would peel me from Palin. As things stand now, he’d be my top choice.

I would need to know how he stands on abortion, originalism, gun rights, taxes, etc. But I assume he’s conservative.

“Arpaio is a Republican.”

If he’s conservative, I want a yard sign and bumper sticker as soon as he runs.
