The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
Best Wishes to Jenna and Henry! W and Mrs.Bush will be wonderful grandparents!
Pattyvita, thank you for all of your updates; the pictures you post of our dear W and his family bring smiles, even in these trying times.
I wish all of my dear friends on this wonderful thread a Merry Christmas and a blessed, healthy and prosperous New Year!
Thanks for posting the good news.
Has anyone on here heard about Pres. G.H.W.Bush being in intensive care of the Methodist Hospital in Texas for his temperature going up? He had been in there for a month anyway because of a persistent bad cough, and had to stay in over Christmas. In the news back about a week or so ago, they had said they might release him before Christmas, but two days or so ago, they said he’d have to stay in over Christmas! I guess the family’s been in to see him often and were visiting w/him over Christmas.
They said he’s on a liquid diet, and were treating him with Tylenol. It’s been tricky, because the fever was not going down too easily! His spokesman said that he’s quite alert, and talking with his nurses and others pretty well, and is in good spirits in spite of it all! While worrisome, the doctors were very emphatic that it “wasn’t the end game”! It was just to be cautious, I guess! (my opinion)
ohhh, LUV W, thank you for posting this beautiful picture....brings back such wonderful memories! I miss ‘W’ and Laura so very much. Miss Barney and Ms. Beazley too!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and hope 2013 is happy and healthy!
I know all of us, on the DOSE, are praying for President George H.W. Bush and his family.
LUV W, do you plan to attend opening of President George W. Bush’s Center.....think it’s in April of 2013 in Dallas?
I would love to, but doubt if I’ll be able to. I need to save my time off for the TexasCowboy Shoot in June. :)
If there was a way, though, it would be cool!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I miss Barney and Ms. Beazley and their “parents” so much!
We did have a good Christmas...and hope you did, too! I’m ver worried about Mr. Bush, Sr, since he’s been put into ICU. :(
Sorry I’ve been gone these past few days, but thank you so much for the kind holiday greetings LUV. Yes, I too had a terrific Christmas.
If it makes you feel better, it’s been reported today that Bush 41 is alert, talkative and even singing to the nurses and doctors. Ah, he still hasn’t lost that spunk! Dubya’s father is doing the best he can to fight and keep his strength up. He wants to live long enough to see his next great-grandchild.
“Bush getting better in hospital, ‘singing’”
Glad you had a good Christmas and very realieved to hear the news that 41 is keeping his usual good humor! I was very worried for a while! Thanks for that update!
Recent pic of GWB holding a Teecil, which is a functional golf tee and pencil all in one.
Earlier today (Sunday, Dec 30th) GW and Laura attended church in Boca Grande, Florida where they are enjoying their annual New Years vacation there.
Nice. Thank you. Happy New Year to you and yours.
You’re very welcome lysie. Same to you as well!
That is such a lovely picture of the two of them — especially Lady Laura.

We've had sooo much going on here at our house. Right after the election we were so disgusted and thought about it....and decided to put our house up for sale and leave CA....for Texas! We are very excited. It must be the right thing, because everything is coming together so quickly. We had the Open House on Dec 9 and by 12 12 12, we were in escrow. My b-day was Christmas and there's been one thing going on around here after another! Then our house appraised right on target and we close later on this month. Wild. I can't wait to be in our new town. We will stay in a hotel for a month while we look and await whatever home we buy's escrow to close. It is very exciting. We've done our homework...now it's time to move on!
Happy New Year to you all!
