Dear All:
The local enviro-nazis in the Klamath Basin (southern OR, northern CA) are attempting to tear down 4 perfectly good dams on the Klamath River and have the power generation replaced with solar, simply because dams are displeasing to these folks.
The local news is running a poll at http://www.localnewscomesfirst.com (lower right-hand corner of the screen) and the enviro side is winning.
PLEASE PLEASE help turn the numbers our direction. Please vote against dam removal. It will destroy this region. Thanks.

No should be at 90%! How do you justify destroying 4 perfectly good dams?

Sorry, I heard that in Arkansas the Army Corp of Engineers built a dam that the local people DID NOT want using eminent domain. If solar power will replace a dam, I say go for it. I know there is more to every story though, so I have to dig a little more.

These dams were all built decades ago and are fully capitalized. They are reliable sources of power using renewable green energy. The environmental hit was taken when the dams were first built and the lakes formed. The environment adjusted, and we have nearly free power from proven technology.
Now, the environmentalists want to radically alter the ecology by draining the lakes, ruining local economies and the established balance, and replace the lost power sources with unproven solar (funded by taxpayers). Power companies that own these hydro plants and depend upon them for a reliable source of green energy will then have to purchase the solar power from subsidized "green" companies when it is even available.
Figure major energy price increases!

If these dams go, there better be a big pile of salmon coming back in return, but that won’t be for several years. I suspect the Kurok tribe east of Eureka, and local salmon fishermen are backing this too.
