Yahoo saying “tens of thousands”

CSPAN not showing anything but tight shots of Glenn and the crowd

Anybody have a real guess of crowd size?

I understood it to describe those who hedge their bets in kinda believing in God. Those who don’t work to have a real relationship with God.

y first thought was of the Shinjuku, Japan train / metro station with the “pushers” to squeeze the maximum number into each car.

I've heard of that. And I managed to avoid rush hour when I was in Tokyo. So, I never experienced it.

The DC Metro can get crowded during rush hour. And it was probably crowded for this event, as well -- especially if they ran their normal reduced weekend schedule. But, if rail passes aren't pre-distributed to this kind of large crowd, the ticket machines will be the first big bottleneck.

When I used to travel to NYC for a week, I would go to the subway station when I arrived on Sunday night to buy my weekly pass, so that I didn't have to worry about it on Monday AM. DC Metro has a reloadable card instead, and I always made a point to do so when I wasn't in a hurry to catch a train.

Magritte, I regret not going, just as I’m reading and enjoying this thread. We have a party coming up so I had things to do, but my hubby (who’s also looking at this thread) said he would’ve driven up there with me for the rally. My heart is swelling with pride for the first time since Zero took over the White House. God bless Glenn Beck for doing this!

I have been listening to him a while, I think he is taking a gentle jab @ the Secular Humanist - Dominant Media types that truly dispise any mention of G_d, since some would use that kind of language to describe him. It is maybe be a C. Hitchens type of statement.

Can anybody explain what the bit about why we should rely on an “invisible magic sky God” - was he just mocking God

Dude, seriously. He said we shouldn't treat God as an “invisible magic sky God”.

Thanks, that makes sense. I don't really like listening to him - he rambles too much and is too vague at times. I know he's proud of going off of his bullet points rather than a formal speech, but he should have had a speech written out.

Rush has 20 million listeners, Beck has 6 million... Rush will cover this when he gets back from Vacation... Of course Rush doesn’t take a Vac every other week on taxpayers expense..

NYT: Parallel Rallies for Beck and Sharpton (Draw Hundreds of Thousands)

LOL! Communist language manipulation! A true statement which avoids the truth completely!

Most idiots will be very neutrally independent, OK, 50/50!!

This is what the MSM is going to do. They are going to attribute the crowd equally to the Beck and Sharpton events. TRULY SHAMEFUL, DISHONEST, AND SICKENING!

There are thousands and thousands behind and to the sides of the lincoln memorial too. Waves and waves crossing memorial bridge. People may start leaving because it’s HOT!

"The crowd _ organizers had a permit for 300,000..."

Will they get fined for exceeding that?

I suspect the Obama Justice Department would seek federal charges against Beck if it is ever reported in the MSM that 300K was exceeded.

If the media were to admit the attendance they would lead with the following headline:

'Glen Beck's rally violates federal law'

Disruption system-wide. Delays due to crowding at Shady Grove, Glenmont, Vienna, New Carrollton, Largo, Franconia, Branch Ave, Greenbelt & Huntington.

Those are all stations at the OUTSIDE EDGE of the various DC Metro lines. They all have large parking facilities, and would be a likely place for people driving into DC for the rallies to park their car.
