Well that was an absolutely ridiculous statement. He has done far more then enough to ever be a “footnote” unless Liberals are writing the histories.
Second thing I’d like to say is I came in here to read updates about the rally and instead I see people whining about how Glenn doesn’t get enough respect from other radio hosts and how “jellus” they are. Please damn well explain to me how any of you engaging in this nonsense are different then those you whine about. Can you really whine about Levin or Hannity when you yourselves are backbiting as well? You aren’t any different. Protective of your favorite and losing sight of the bigger mission.
Every one of these men can be replaced. None are greater then the cause so back off the fanwarring nonsense best reserved for Twilight fans and get your head back in the fight. This was about honoring service and gearing up to take down the elitist liberal thugs in both parties and we need every one of these men. But who do we need more? Not Palin, Rush, Levin, Hannity or Beck. We need the people in that crowd and beyond. The American people are the only ones with the real power to change anything in this country. The american pople were the ones that spontaneously came together to fight back. If REAL change happens in Washington THEY are the ones I’ll be thanking.
Bravo !!!
Here is another one that really made me grin just out of sheer oddness...
>>>Bravo !!!
I’ll add a resounding AMEN! to Soul Seeker’s post in #1321...
I love your analysis.

Glenn Beck Restore Honor at Lincoln Memorial
Glenn Beck Restoring Honor 8-28-2010 Lincoln Memorial
http://www.rushecho.org/2010/08/glenn-beck-restore-honor-at-lincoln.html
Let me introduce a woman whose family is washed in blood.
She is at risk for standing here and saying what she believes.
Ladies and gentlemen, Dr Alveda King!
Dr King: Praise the Lord. He brings us together, not for politics but to Restore Honor.
[She introduces pastors and vocalists]
Come on down, my friends.
How many of us know that we need to rebuild America? And how many of you know that we need you to do it?
We must rebuild.
So many are gone; there must be a reason for me to be here; I do not feel fear.
Leave all the brokenness behind; we must rebuild, with Change. Etc.
We have to build our families back up; stick together; show the whole world.
(repeat, repeat, repeat: Can we rebuild?]
Thank You, Angelica.
Black young preacher reads a scripture and then the choral group sings Spirituals.
Lets Walk Together In Unity; We are in a war against sin; and a house divided [falls in].
Another scripture: Ephesians 4 (Paul)
Show tolerance one to another
Alveda King: My parents were here to support Uncle Martin.
We all knew that August 28th would be an important day, ultimately about Love.
He stood in awe at what God was doing.
If anyone will honor God, God will honor him.
Before honoring comes humility.
Uncle Martin came out from a roach-infested jail cell to focus on his calling.
Today we honor people not afraid to give their lives for the freedom of others.
If he were here, Martin Luther King, Jr., would stand with us and encourage us.
We are one human family, yes. [applause].
47 years ago, Uncle Martin said it was a check on a bank nearly bankrupt.
Our sons and daughters [deserve better].
Marriage is being threatened, where is the fabric of our society?
Moral poverty: yet Faith, Hope, and Charity are not dead in America.
We still have faith in God and America. When will the check be good?
We will know when will we have public prayer in the public square and in public schools.
Yes, I too have a dream.
[[She looks up at a third flyover.]]
I have a dream that White privilege will become Human privilege.
On that day we can pray for all of Gods children.
[Angelica leads the singers: Liberty. Let our rejoicings rise; to the skies; let it resound like the rolling seas.]
Now isn’t that just the boy you want your daughter to bring home?
LOL!
Re: #1323
LOL! Reminds me of some bad dreams I’ve had. Love your sense of humor. Many thanks.

Me too. And I understand totally about Piper.
LVR does indeed have many friends on FR.
He’s never been anything but a straight shooter and courteous to boot.
They cover their faces because they are ashamed of who they are and don’t want anyone to recognize them. (Don’t do a vey good job, do they? But then that probably extends to everything they do.)

By far the most most stirring part of his speech was about the power of the individual
Somewhere in this crowd I know it. I have been looking for the next George Washington. I cant find him. I know he is in this crowd. He may be 8 years old, but this is the moment. This is the moment that he dedicates his life, that he sees giants around him. And 25 years from now, he will come not to this stair, but to those stairs. And he can proclaim, I have a new dream. That must be our goal: to raise the next great monument.
So true. Its not about ranking, rating or popularity. Its about standing up for what is right and true. The least among us can become ( and often is) the greatest of heroes.
The ones with the microphones exhort and cajole. They carry water for the movement.
The heavy lifting is done by the “little people” back in their communities.
Thats what grass roots is.
Thank you, Glenn Beck. Thank you for having the courage to put yourself out there and thank you for encouraging others to stand up. May God forever bless you.
post to self to bookmark thread.
What a fantastic day. Good, love and common decency prevailed - hate and divisiveness withered.
Yes, poster, I agree with you 100%. Thank you Glenn Beck, Thank you Sarah Palin and...Thank you, most of all, Martin Luther King, Jr. With each passing year MLK grows in stature, wisdom, love of freedom and total positive worth of the individual human being, no matter who or what he or she may be. I look at MLK (Judge a person, by their content of their character, not the color of their skin) and then I look upon dismal, Black racist Al Sharpton, or American hater, POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama, or Black racist, America trasher Rev. Jeremiah Wright, or criminal, Charlie Rangel, or crook, Maxine Waters, or criminal, William Jefferson, etc., and I view the woeful turnout that Al Sharpton inspired versus the Beck,Palin, massive “Rally” etc., and I also marvel that Dr. King is on track to run with the company of Washington & Lincoln. Too bad, the overwhelming amount of American Blacks have it all wrong. Blacks, best wake up!!! The train is leaving the station and, you folks ain’t on it!!! Time for you good folks to broom Obama and his entire ilk. They do you no favors whatsoever!!!
A VISITOR FROM THE PAST
By Thelen Paulk
I had a dream the other night, I didn’t understand.
A figure walking through the mist, with flintlock in his hand.
His clothes were torn and dirty, as he stood there by the bed,
He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low, he said:
“We fought a revolution, to secure our liberty.
We wrote the Constitution, as a shield from tyranny,
For future generations, this legacy we gave,
In this the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
“The freedom we secured for you, we hoped you’d always keep.
But tyrants labored endlessly, while your parents were asleep.
Your freedom gone, your courage lost, you’re no more than a slave,
In this the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
“You buy permits to travel, and permits to own a gun,
Permits to start a business, or to build a place for one.
On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent,
Although you have no voice in choosing how the money’s spent.”
“Your children must attend a school that doesn’t educate.
Your Christian values can’t be taught, according to the state.
You read about the current news, in a regulated press.
You pay a tax you do not owe, to please the I.R.S.”
“Your money is no longer made of silver or of gold.
You trade your wealth for paper, so your life can be controlled.
You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God in shame,
You’ve taken Satan’s number, as you’ve traded in your name.”
“You’ve given government control to those who do you harm,
So they can padlock churches, and steal the family farm,
And keep the country deep in debt, put men of God in jail,
Harass your fellow countrymen, while corrupted courts prevail.”
“Your public servants don’t uphold the solemn oath they’ve sworn.
Your daughters visit doctors so their children won’t be born.
Your leaders ship artillery and guns to foreign shores,
And send your sons to slaughter, fighting other people’s wars.”
“Can you regain freedom for which we fought and died?
Or don’t you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride?
Are there no more values for which you’ll fight to save?
Or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave?”
“Sons of the Republic, arise and take a stand!
Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land!
Preserve our great republic and each God-given right,
And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright!”
As I awoke he vanished, in the mist from which he came.
His words were true, we are not free. We have ourselves to blame.
For even now as tyrants trample each God-given right,
We only watch and tremble, too afraid to stand and fight.
If he stood by your bedside, in a dream while you’re asleep,
And wondered what remains of our rights he fought to keep,
What would be your answer, if he called out from the grave?
Is this still the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave?
“Well that was an absolutely ridiculous statement. He has done far more then enough to ever be a footnote unless Liberals are writing the histories.”
Unfortunately, it’s not. And I’ll provide an example. Ask someone on the street who Charles Coughlin was and 98 times out of 100, you’ll get a blank stare. Most Catholics don’t even know who he was. And as a percentage of the population, he was listened to more than Mr. Limbaugh.
FWIW, I listen to Mr. Limbaugh from time to time, and think he’s brilliant. I just think that he is not going to have a significant impact on our history. Sorry if you view that as snarky.
I wish that Mr. Limbaugh would do more with his prodigious talents. But that is his choice to make.
