Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, a possible presidential candidate in 2012, affirmed Wednesday that Sarah Palin is an energizing force among Republicans but suggested her political reach has its limits.
[....]
Daniels instead suggested the country needs a leader with the ability to bring disparate factions together to solve what he named as the primary problems facing the country: the growing debt and national security.
"Let me say it this way," Daniels said. "To do the sort of things that I personally believe are necessary for the American experiment to continue as anything like we have known it, that is for us to be a place of hope and upward mobility, I believe we are going to have to do some very decisive things."
Daniels said "the only way for these improbable things to occur" is that "a broad coalition of people, broader than we're used to lately, would have to agree, maybe to set aside disagreements on other things, because if we don't deal with the debt problem, if we don't face squarely the new threats to our lives in a national security context, some of these other disagreements aren't going to matter very much at all."

“...broad coalition of people, broader than we’re used to lately, would have to agree, maybe to set aside disagreements on other things, because...”
I don’t quite see it that way. I think it’s going to be “we win, you lose”.
HIs head is too big!
He reminds me of this guy!
Cournier-Journal reporting today the Daniels said he is NOT running for POTUS in ‘12. Couldn’t post due to FR rules. My reaction - BFD.
What secrets lay beneath this little man’s comb-over?
I don’t trust anything that he says!
Check out the internet, Mitch Daniels and Eli Lilly.
“The Bush family and the administration have too many ties to Eli Lilly. There’s President Bush’s father, who after stepping aside as Director of Central Intelligence in 1977, was made director of the Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company by the family of Dan Quayle, who owned the controlling interest in the company. There was White House budget director Mitch Daniels, once an Eli Lilly executive; and Eli Lilly CEO Sidney Taurel, who serves on the president’s homeland security advisory council.”
Liberal RINOs eating each other....could be the best thing for Real Conservatives.
Daniels is a Liberal RINO...his attacks on the social conservatives, and, his Globalist ideology, are reasons enough to stay away from him. Selling a taxpayer funded highway to a foreign company is never a good idea, Mitch....
Did you have on a tinfoil hat when you posted that?
Nope...I’ve seen the little rodent in action.

I wonder if this guy likes baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet.
This guy talks pure gibberish.
set aside disagreements??? Does he mean put aside our pro life, family values, is that what he means?
It's not? Worked out pretty well for Indiana.
somebody should tell Mitch that we have a spending problem, not a debt problem.
There will be a struggle between Pawlenty and Mitch to be the alternative to Romney in New Hampshire. Mitch is goin’ nowhere in Iowa or SC.
Daniels makes it appear that Palin is an economic illiterate and simply a cheerleader.
The boys with cajones will soon learn who has the real cajones.
Nope. We ain’t buying Mitch. The fact that Lugie Lugar was the first to back him should make us raise our eyebrows before we say, ‘buh, bye!’
Daniels wants us to surrender in the culture war, he is a surrender monkey.
