PPP has Bill Brady up by 9 here in Illinois. Definite trend in this race...
For those of us who are not from Illinois, what does this mean?
Who is Bill Brady?
Is this a primary or a special election?
Sorry, but don’t want to browse over to a blog to find out.
Just a friendly suggestion: in an international forum like Free Republic, you can assume the vast majority of us have no idea who in the local races the candidates are, what office they are running for, or what party they affiliate with.
He is our conservative candidate for Governor. Our primary was in February so Brady and Pat Quinn have been at it for a while.
It is significant that in each poll that comes out, a conservative is trouncing the sitting Democrat governor of Illinois.
Good news, especially considering this is a Dem polling outfit. There are several competitive house races in Illinois too. A decisive win at the top of the ticket can only help GOP congressional candidates.
Excellent news!
Thank you.
Now I have another political race to pray for!
:)
And he may just pull the GOP Senate candidate to a win also..
It means the freepers who agree with the MSM and constantly claim that a conservative is "unelectable" in Illinois and RINOs are "the best we can get" here are ignorant of reality and will have egg on their faces in November.
>> Who is Bill Brady? <<
A conservative (pro-life, pro-gun, pro-traditional family, anti-tax-and-spend) state Senator from Bloomington-Normal who narrowly won the GOP's nomination for Governor in Feb.
>> Is this a primary or a special election? <<
Neither. The poll is regarding the Nov. 2010 regular election. He is beating incumbent RAT Governor Pat Quinn.
Good point. I’m so used to reading my local news....
Shows you just how bad things are for the libs when a Conservative is ahead in a bought-and-paid-for democrat state like Illinois.
I don’t want to hijack this thread, but speaking of candidates running for governor, here in Maine, Paul LePage is ahead by 8 points.
LePage is the TEA Party’s choice. Back in June, he won the GOP primary for governor after running against six other GOP hopefuls who were trying to become Maine’s next governor.
I can’t wait for November 2nd.
Great news. Quinn is as big a fool as they come, just not as corrupt as his two predecessors.
PPP is a Democrat poll. Brady is ahead by double digits.
We don’t want that whatsoever. Mark Kirk is a lying, Socialist scumbag. He makes Arlen Specter and Judas Jeffords look like Jesse Helms.
*IL Politics Ping*
When a Dem poll shows this wide a lead for Brady...
Please don’t make this thread about Mark Kirk. Do that on the Mark Kirk threads.
Ras has Brady up by 12 last time I checked, this is bad, bad news for the Dem machine in IL.
You want Alexi???....Kirk will be the 51st vote for the GOP in the DSenate
Last week, a poll said that Brady was ahead by 13% (48%-35%). The fact that Brady’s lead is shrinking is depressing.
Rep. Kirk usually votes with Democrats. According to www.vote-smart.org, these are some of Rep. Kirk’s latest interest group ratings: Planned Parenthood, 100%; NEA, A; Americans for Democratic Action, 55%; AFL-CIO, 47%; American Conservative Union, 48%; Club for Growth, 42%; National Taxpayers Union, C-; Citizens Against Government Waste, 33%; John Birch Society, 25%; Concerned Women of America, 23%; and Gun Owners of America, F-.
