The issue isn’t that the Dems were caught by surprise and could have avoided it via more fundraising and spending. It was they’d ignored the demographic and ideological shifts within their districts that made it impossible to elect a Dem except under very unusual circumstances.

2006 and 2008 were those unusual circumstances, as a LOT of Dems won in GOP-leaning/majority districts. The pendulum is now swinging back, especially since the factors that propelled the Dems to their 2006 and 2008 majorities haven’t simply moved into “neutral”, but are now very much a net negative (and a significant one at that) to their continues survival.

Did anyone hear his speech in Florida yesterday? It was creepy. It was so chopped, so emotionless, so cold and totally lacking in the fake "charm" he turned on to fool the sheeple in the past. Something is happening to the man. I think the breakdown is coming, and he can't get up the enthusiasm anymore. Either that, or more likely, he truly does not care about the situation on the Gulf. He is tired of it. He did not get the "bump" he wanted out of the tragedy, so he is done being excited about it, or interested.

I truly think he HATES THE DUTIES OF BEING PRESIDENT. HE JUST WANTED TO WIN, AND GET THE PERKS.

Win for the sake of winning, but don't worry about doing the job...that is/was his philosophy. Typical narcissist. He just wanted the adoration, the attention, but being a lazy, incapable person...he had no intention of working hard in the WH.

All of these scenarios leave out one thing. The fact these idiots are preparing to do that which is what they do best and that is cheat. In most cases they will use every ruse to steal the elections. Stuff ballots, have the dead voting, fix voting machines, vote often, pay illegals to vote. Should all these not work challenge elections in court and have a leftist judge declare the winner after hundreds of recounts in which the loser miraculously finds votes in the trunks of cars and the coffins of the dead.

They are deliberately destroying the country and they know quite well the people are against them. But these are not your regular old time democrats. Oh, those are still around, but they made a pact with the commies. Commies are what they have always been, thugs and thieves and murdering scum. Commies have never willingly given up power and it won't change this time. We should be aware of this and prepare accordingly on our side. I think we are too giddy with confidence that we will clean their clocks this time.

Don't be an Eeyore. The surprise for them should have been over a year ago. They thought their Jon Stewarts would do their dirty work for them with the Alinsky weapons of ridicule and demonization, and that was a miscalculation.

We'll have rallies in the late summer and early fall--the AZ primary may deal us a psychological blow if McCain wins, but we can't afford to waste much anger over that. We'll just try to make sure he doesn't have a "progressive" congress that he and Lindsey can "work with."
