WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama on Friday forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the country's founding principles demanded no less. "As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country," Obama said, weighing in for the first time on a controversy that has riven New York and the nation. "That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances," he said. "This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."

As disgusting as this is, you have the correct analysis. This is actually good news. It give people an unambiguous measure of the president. They will choose wisely in 2010, and 2012.

I bet any soldier enlisting prior to BHO’s taking office has to really dig down deep now to find any respect for their Commander-in-Chief. When I worked for a defense contractor long ago, I could feel my pride stirring within me even as I entered the building. It’s difficult to quantify, but I believe this lack of respect can even affect consumer confidence.. Just his presence can bring America AND Americans down, but then again, that’s exactly what he and the Progressives are striving hard to do. If November isn’t the election outcome we FReeper’s are praying for, I’m afraid it’s “curtains” for America. November is not only a HUGE election, it’s make or break for our Republic once and for all. We’ve put up with these political insurgents long enough!
