California Republican U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina has increased her lead over Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer to five percentage points according to a new CBS 5 KPIX-TV poll released Thursday, which also shows gubernatorial candidates Democrat Jerry Brown and Republican Meg Whitman in a dead heat.
The CBS 5 poll, conducted by the research firm SurveyUSA, showed Fiorina edging Boxer 47 percent to 42 percent, compared to a CBS 5 poll one month ago showing Fiorina over Boxer 47 to 45 percent.
The poll results indicated Fiorina's support was essentially unchanged among men and women, young and old, white and Hispanic while Boxer had lost small ground among men, younger voters, and independents.

One of the most disgusting and embarassing displays of self-congratulatory, narcissistic hubris was Barbara Boxhead dressing down a general for calling her “ma’am”, insisting that he address her as “Senator”.
By God’s grace, that jerk won’t be a Senator after Jan 20, 2011.

Oooh, let me put on my prediction hat... I predict that in September, Diane Feinstein will go around and spout off a load of uber liberal stuff, make outlandish statements, and all around make herself look about as unstable as possible, as well as drop hints that she won’t be running for the Senate again.
Barbara Boxer, who pulled the same stunt to save Feinstein’s seat last time, will speak eloquently about all the incredible needs and challenges that California faces, and how she’s going to redirect her energy towards meeting those changes, which is all the more important now that Feinstein will be leaving with all her experience and knowledge...
Will the voters buy this wooden nickel again? Donno.
