GLENDALE - Second Amendment supporters were out celebrating Thursday night at an Arizona park, and guns were welcome.
The new law, which prevents Arizona cities from banning firearms in city parks, went into effect July 29.
The law also allows people to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. Arizona is now the third state, behind Alaska and Vermont, to allow concealed weapons without a permit.
Candidates for local offices showed up for the event.
"Today is a day we're celebrating the liberties that people lost and regained in the last legislative session," said Arizona State Senator Jack Harper.
Critics of the new law say it makes everyone less safe and makes any trip to the city park more dangerous.
There are a few exceptions to the law. Weapons cannot be carried into a bar or restaurant that serves alcohol. They also can't be carried into businesses that prohibit weapons.
I have no experience with Jersey, but in CA (another “may issue” state) it depends on the county you live in. Rural counties with pro-gun sheriffs will usual issue CCW licenses. But in ‘Rat-infested counties there’s little to no chance unless you’re politically connected.

.
Solution: Boycott those businesses until they lobby for a change in the law to remove the exceptions.

Is there really a lot more crime in "red" Wisconsin than in "blue" Michigan?
Playing executioner is still illegal. If that's really want you want to do, what has stopped you up until this point?
Maryland is “may issue” ... if you’re a politically connected ‘Rat ...

They have a strong State Constitutional right to bear arms that was affirmed with a State Supreme Court ruling in the 1920’s.
And they permit (or permitted) dueling. Liberal dipwads would be much more careful about their boorish behavior if dueling were brought back.
Jersey IS ‘Rat-infested.
Yeah, you know, it's all those timid crooks that want to commit a crime of violence but can't because they'd need to carry a gun and they don't have a permit.
I never really understood why they got rid of it.
Mrs. Liberty and I are sure celebrating. We bought a pair of Taurus .380s last week (hers is pink! LOL). There were only a few small to medium frame pistols left at the gun shop. I got a nice inside-the-belt holster for mine...
We did notice ammo for the .380 is hard to find. We’re mail-ordering.
Cabela’s usually has plenty of .380 ammo, but it is expensive. I was surpirsed to find it is nearly double the price of 9mm ammo.
Time for real Americans to do the job the government won’t do.
If you are just target shooting, as long as the bullets are not steel (i.e. either brass or lead) or produced with a bunch of dye or something that gets the inside of the gun really filthy, most of the ammo you find at Cabelas or Cheaper than Dirt or other outlets will do just fine. I’ve been shooting some ammo through my 9mm that was made in Czeckoslavakia or Poland, and it has caused no problems. When I clean my gun afterward, I’ve been finding that it shoots just as clean as the Winchester or Remington ammo that is considerably more expensive.
Homosexual Critics of the new law say it makes everyone less safe and makes any trip to the city park more dangerous.
It might surprise you to learn this, but homosexuals in Arizona are often pro-gun. Many carry.

“Will VA be next for Constitutional concealed carry?”
Virginia will be high on the list. I personally think it will be a few years.
