PHOENIX (AP) - Gov. Jan Brewer says it's just a "bump in the road" that a federal judge blocked key parts of Arizona's immigration enforcement law from taking effect Thursday.
Brewer says she's disappointed by the ruling.
But she notes that it doesn't block a provision barring local governments from restricting the enforcement of federal immigration laws.
Brewer says the fight isn't over and that the state will soon appeal Judge Susan Bolton's ruling to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.
In Brewer's words, "this fight is far from over."

It is a temporary bump, but I hope that Obama offered Bolton a plum job out of state because she has just become the most hated person in Arizona.
No final verdict has been issued. And even when it is issued, it will be appealed and bumped to to the 9th circus.
“Bingo. Brewer must be stunned by the lack of judicial objectivity here, and she apparently knows little about the 9th Circus.”
________
The ninth has made a couple decent decisions lately, but I don’t trust the liberal packed bunch. Then it will go to the Supremes, with Obama’s new pick. We’re toast.
The Ninth Circuit will consider this law to being a kin to secession and strike it down. Then this case can go to the Supreme Nine (don't ask the Ninth to rehear en banc - waste of time). They will likely grant cert. Then this case will come down to Justice Kennedy (we already know how the other eight will vote).
No we’re not, Obama’s pick is replacing a reliably liberal vote. I really do think Kennedy will come down on the side of the people. It may be a 5-4 decision but I think the 5 will stand with us.
This is a perfect opportunity to get this to the SC and have it heard. The judge’s ruling is as predictable as it is lacking in logic or an iota of the law. She was, afterall, a Clintoon appointee. The dems don’t make the dame ind of mistakes Pubbies do with their appointments.
IMHO this is a lose-lose for The Marxist Onada. If he had ignored it many other states would have followed AZ’s lead. Taking AZ to court only delays the inevitable. Also, many of those people without jobs must be saying WTF. It is clear that the potential for the ilegal votes trumps putting Americans to work.
I’ve been waiting for one, just one, conservative candidate to point the obvious. If I were holding my breath I’d be dead. The only conservative candidate making any effort to take Onada on is Palin. But she seems to be holding back.
If she’s a serius candidate she needs to come out swinging at every opportunity on every issue or her window of opportunity will close. Nov. is not far away and no so-called conservative candidate has taken charge. Romney is a RINO, Huckaby is a huckster, Jindal has been to quiet and the Pauls are libertarian’s first last and always.
Times up Sarah. Either commit and engage or go away. If it’s your intent to run a campaign on Onada’s mistakes rather than what you believe you’ve lost me. The usurping Onada’s policies are providing cornucopia of failure. Contrasting what you believe should be easy to do. This election is all about a vision for America’s future.
Do we return to what made this country the greatest economic engine and social leveler the world has ever known—via our Constitution and capitalism—or do we go down the failed socialist road? It’s as simple as that.
Brewer for President. Gutsy lady
Brewer for President. Gutsy lady
Americans are not in favor of this ruling, and this will bite Hussein and Holder in the ass BIG TIME.
Americans will take care of this problem, and the result will be greater liberty for this nation and a repudiation of ObamaFascism.
Dad was the Marine, Korean War.
I was Airborne Infantry, Texas Army Guard.
Brother was Air Force, Viet Nam.
Dad made sure we knew what was what. Riflemen FIRST.
Then pick which Branch you want.
.
I completely agree.
But, our problem is that most of those on the right still labor under the illusion that we are a nation of laws, not men. That the other side would abide by a ruling against them, that the "law" is even relevant anymore. As an object lesson for our side: drilling moratorium.
I hope you’re right, McGavin999.
ABC NEWS TONITE Lead-in on this story:
“The Law has replaced threats, andHope has replaced fear!”
ABSOLUTE ORWELLIAN PROPOGANDA....
don’t watch journolistas
it just raises your blood pressure
Sadly, I believe you are correct.
“Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard:
Jan Brewer played politics with immigration, and she lost.”
Well, she OBVIOUSLY made the right call in not having this joker defend the law in court.
I’m with you!
Yeah, we all know what “temporary” injuctions mean. It means an indefinite stay and then maybe funding issues, tedium, and exasperation will make the whole issue go away. Ask those in Farmers Branch, Texas who’ve been waiting YEARS for a “temporary” injuction against their anti-illgal immigration law to be lifted or apealed to a higher court.
IF she could she should bypass the 9th.
“Regardless this is headed to the Supreme Court.”
Which is nicely seeded with Dem appointees. Follow the money.
