Former Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod said Thursday she wants to discuss racial issues with President Obama, who's "not someone who has experienced some of the things I've experienced in life."
But she also said on morning news shows she feels there is no need for Obama to apologize for her wretched week, which started with a conservative blogger posting controversial remarks she made, and led to her ouster as an Agriculture Department official and then, ultimately, apologies from both the White House and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.

Sherrod said of Obama: "I'd like to help him see some of the things that he could do in the future."
"I really regret what they did. But as I said before, he's my president," Sherrod said. "When you get it down to where the rubber meets the road, I think you need to understand a little more what life is like. I'd love to talk to him, though, or people in his administration ... to help them understand."

It may very well be that Shirley lost her father because of his activities. Regardless....a terrible way to lose a father.
I think these are good people BUT I don't believe in this reparations gig.

Which begs the question no one has asked, how many white people has she had authority over through the years that were denied rights by her because they were white. I am betting that this black power against whites is epidemic in the government workplace and is a joke for many at the water coolers. Just out of curiosity, are there any statistics that show the percentages of various races that work in the federal government? The black population in the US is 13.5%. If the proportions are way out of line, this needs to be investigated.

Well FRiend, I guess we’ll disagree on this one. It takes a strong and gutsy move to make any kind of impact at all on such a tough situation like the use of the race card against us. ANd Sherrod is the perfect person to prove that there is ample racism to go around, plus she’s a marxist which is clearly good for our needs.
I see this as brave and strategically excellent because it is similar to the first bombardment of a castle. It doesn’t bring the castle down by itself or right away but it does cause enough damage for other assaults on the entire foundation of the structure. It provides an opening for further attacks. The whole structure finally gives way in at least one place and the battle is won.

I don’t think that the farmer acted superior at all. She just wanted an excuse not to help him all she could. Most farmers are down-to-earth and hard workers. If I was worried about losing my farm, I certainly wouldn’t act like I was better than the person assigned to help me. I doubt that he did.
Talk about luck! This woman just walked thru cow sh!# and will come out smelling like a rose. She will become a rich black racist with 15 minutes of fame guaranteed.

Where did the money go?
The $13 million settlement went to members of the rural farm cooperative. Sherrod was a member of that group.
And was the cooperative really mistreated on the basis of race, or was it simply subject to the same “loving care” everybody gets at the hands of government agency apparatchiks?
A federal court found there was discrimination, specifically in the years 1981-1986 when the civil rights division of the USDA was closed.
You might want to read up on the specifics of Pigford vs. Vilsack before commenting on the outcome.

I'm not surprised to see you here defending a black extortionist for racial redress. I actually defended her myself for the tape being taken out of context but aside from that she is nothing but a socialist bigot seeking to get paid.
