Eighteen months in, the Obama presidency is in as dreadful shape as one can imagine. He’ll almost certainly lose the House in the fall elections; and now it’s looking like he could lose the theoretically impregnable Democratic majority in the Senate. What’s more, he has, to an astonishing degree, been unable to communicate even the remotest sense of who he is to the nation: a middle-of-the-roader, by any estimation, and yet a majority of the country thinks he’s a “socialist.”
In the summer before his election, Obama had a secret meeting with that dark master of realpolitik, Rupert Murdoch, who had become uncharacteristically smitten with the popular candidate. Murdoch had sought the meeting to impart a piece of advice: Knowing every President since Kennedy, what Murdoch had come to understand about American politics, he said, was how little time there was to get anything accomplished. In effect, said Murdoch to Obama, whatever a president does in his first 18 months in office is his legislative legacy.

I'm not sure about that. I talk to people every week who are thrilled to death that their food stamps allocation has been raised, sometimes quite dramatically.

We all need to pray that good honest conservatives run for office and win; and that they will have the backbone to roll back all this damage.
The status quo is non-sustainable. The laws and policies being instated can only be administered by significantly increasing rule by coercion which is incompatible with the current schema of elections and voting. The other alternative is to ramp up the de-facto modern-day red scare which is in essence occurring, and vote these creepy bums out. A third way is the former loss of freedom, and then applying the second amendment.
In this case the road to Hell is paved with bad intentions. Obama is not a socialist, he is a Marxist.

Maybe that's becuase if he actually communicated who he is, A Kenyan born citizen of Great Britain, he would disqualify himself from the office he is usurping. However if he really wants to communicate who he is, he should start by unsealing and publicizing all the records of his past.

We don't think he's a socialist, we KNOW he's a socialist. So far he's nationalized the auto industry, the health care industry, working on the finacial industry. Only socialist take ove industries in the government's name.

What planet does this writer live on? The POTUS has never had any trouble communicating who he is, in fact; the guy won't shut up. And Americans aren't stupid, either; we see exactly who he is, a communist/socialist, bent on transforming the country.
