Is there any limit to the cruelty of the American conservative? These vicious sadists take great delight in harming people and reveling in their suffering, or so says Amanda Marcotte, noted expert on wha? huh? look over there!
The pleasure of sadism as [sic] always been a driving force behind movement conservatism. They’ve always taken a great deal of pleasure in attacking people’s livelihoods for the hell of it, as I know all too well. They’re [sic] always enjoyed sending a message that those who comfort the afflicted and afflict the powerful should expect pain and even ruin.
All that said, I think there’s a reason to think that sadism for its own sake is on the rise within conservative ranks.
Amanda Marcotte is the editor of the blog Pandagon and author of two books on feminism and progressive politics. Her first book was so “progressive” it had to be reprinted after outraged readers called for a boycott over racially offensive illustrations.
Let’s take a look at how Amanda defines “mindless sadism and cruelty.”

Common sense is the driving force behind conservatism.
But I do think there are some fringe elements that are totally self centered and call themselves conservative that meets her description that I’m ashamed to be associated with.
That would be the completely disavow any governmental responsibility for the poor and needy, all taxes are theft, as well as the shoot the child for a pack of gum crowd.
I say, "No. I just want you to leave me alone."
But they aren't buying it. They know that Conservatives are control freaks who get off on messing up other people's lives.
It's projection, of course.

I don’t know who Amanda Marcotte is but she needs a spanking. With a paddle.
Horowitz shouldn’t have given the woman the publicity. She is nuts.
If they are honest and not just bigots, then they are reacting to puritanism. Most American liberal opposition to religion is along these lines.
Who are the puritans today?
She looks sort of “Guilty!” to me ....

Man, has this woman got it backwards. I’ve met some truly sadistic liberals in my life.
Remember when she wandered off into the Duke Lacrosse Frame? We cut her liver out and fed it to her.
And the fact that many who do want to run your life call themselves "conservatives."
What she has to say really is of no consequence. There are plenty of other things to worry about these days than what some nobody has to say about something they know nothing about. All she needs is a good spanking...
Plus, even FR has a Nanny-Stater wing.
