Palin, Don't Let Them Call You Quitter!
vanity

Posted on 06/10/2010 7:26:39 AM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Come 2012, Palin must not let Romneycare, Pawlenty, Gingrich-scozzafava, and ultimately Obama get away with the "you're a quitter" mantra--especially Obama, who essentially quit his barely 2 year term in the Senate before it even started so he can run for President.

It's not about the time one serves in office, but what one accomplishes IN THAT TIME.

As governor, Palin accomplished more in two years than most governors do in 4 to 8-- and she didn't leave her state in debt or with a failed universal healthcare system like Romney did! In the 2012 primaries, she needs to have confidence that what she achieved for her state surpasses what her opponents had for theirs.

While out of office, Palin has accomplished more than the others combined. The Tea Party movement would have never taken off the way it had without her presence. Several contested primaries would have gone hopelessly awry without her crucial endorsements, and the healthcare bill would have passed a lot sooner and been worse without her "death panels" comment.

Most importantly: she's the only one brave enough to speak out on highly contentious issues (such as calling Gore out on "Climategate.") She has been the most articulate and effective in exposing and criticizing the Obama Admin for the direction they are taking this country. She was the highest profile leader to be the first to take the risk in endorsing anti-establishment, underdog candidates such as Doug Hoffman in the NY-23. Showing that above all, she is willing to challenge the GOP establishment-machine, while her fellow GOP contenders rely on it or kiss up to it, or are a part of it.

Not to mention, Palin has never "quit" on taking firm stances on the most important core issues, especially abortion, while her fellow contenders are major flip floppers. (I wonder if Romney will claim to be pro-life and if greenie Gingrich will now admit manmade global warming is untrue.)

You might want to take some comprehension classes. He was dissing all three, not just Palin

You're right.

Sorry about that catfish!

about Palin that 1% might turn into 1.2%

That was rich Bob, especially coming from you, the fount of objectivity!

For someone who is so abjectly and purposefully biased against Governor Palin, who twists the truth, who spins everything concerning Governor Palin in the most negative fashion possible, it is laughable that you would take anyone else's objectivity to task.

This was a perfect example of projection.

What's really sad, is that these biased, non-objective purists will still be ranting and raving about Sarah being no better than a RINO and still calling us cult members as she is sworn into office.

You ever notice how the tiniest of groups of people are usually the ones with the biggest mouths?

gawd how i wish the rino-o-p cheerleaders would get over themselves...

at this point im fully convinced that juan threw the game, and i think that for all her fairly conservative background, that she was picked precisely to torpedo the campaign, and precisely because she could be counted on to be a republican first...

ifn we get more of the same, the results will inevitably be the same...

and before the full of themselves types chime in, no i didnt vote *for* juan, and that is the last time I'll ever vote *against* anybody...

It is not ME telling everyone who will listen that Hunter is the only guy who:

a) Can surely win

b) Should surely win

c) Should be coronated

And it ain’t me sitting around here spending 80% my posts either praising Hunter or kneecapping his potential conservative rivals.

For example, the last 100 threads on Jim DeMint posted. See anything odd about it?

Or how about the last 100 on Steve King?

No good would have come from a McCain presidency and after the last two years of hell with Bush 2007-2008 there is no fing way I wanted to live through a president McCain. At least for the past two years we all know who the enemy is and oppose them. Now the rats are shooting each other ;instead of us shooting each other as in 2007-2008.

mcqueeg, was and even still is a trainwreck lookin for tracks...I gave the lady Gov the benefit of the doubt during the campaign, but the fact is that i dont think she can outta the good ole boys club...

tis a shame, as I wouldve at least been able to watch a speech of her, unlike the agitated nausea i get whenever bigearred-HUSSEIN-commie-muslim-kenyan-male-bride of the wookie, looks down his snout...

Sorry. LOL. One, I posted a number of these. Good men who I’d love to see compete with “my guy” for the nomination. And two, none of them were posted by any of the more, shall we say ‘enthusiastic’, Palin supporters.

This is the only place that can turn me into a Palin critic.

I find myself infuriated whenever some Beltway sniveler like Noonan, Brooks, or Krauthammer looks down his or her nose at Palin. I find myself screaming that she’s accomplished more with fewer advantages than Obummer ever has. That she’s run things, worked in the real world, etc.

Then I come here and see that there are some who go the other way and treat her like a deity, seemingly unable to see that her political expressions do, really, remain fairly shallow.

Is there a thing Palin says that dozens of other conservatives don’t say better and more eloquently? Does anyone here really think she has the depth of a DeMint or Michelle Bachman, for example? Or (he says, ducking) even of a Newt Gingrich? Honestly?

She’s a great story and an accomplished person. She’s to be admired. But she would NOT be a good choice for the GOP presidential nomination at all.

But you say that here and its as if you’ve just called a lot of peoples’ babies ugly.

Oh, well.

Hank

Happy to retract any lies I’ve told about Palin. Unfortunately, no one seems to want to point them out, but they sure like to accuse.

Well said. And on top of that, I have repeatedly stated I’ll support her, even enthusiastically, if she wins the nomination. But that isn’t good enough. If she ain’t numero uno in your heart and mind, then you are a “hater” or better yet, a ‘liar’.

Way overblown on your part Pissant and no context whatsoever provided.

It's comments like those, and the inevitable snarky, unsubstantiate, or dishonest statements that usually get responses by Palin supporters.

If we were to state the untrue, and twisted out of context things about Hunter, you'd be the first to respond.

I’ve been called both a palin hater and a liar. You know I don’t hate her. And nobody’s shown me any of the lies they claim I make.

Twisting is what her supporters do. They cherry pick what they want from her past. They still hold up her speech at the nominating convention as RWR returned. Yet when I point out she has yet to retract some of her nutty utterances she made during the campaign ——— well those just don’t count all the sudden.

“twisting” can mean anything. Another word is spinning. For example, to the folks that adore palin, the picking of Fiorina was shrewd, smart and practical. To those of us who understand what a disaster Carly is, it was a horrific thing to do on Palin’s part. Two opposite reactions. One based SOLELY on an elevation of Palin to wise goddess, the other based solely on understanding and not accepting lying flip flopping RINOs, no matter who endorses them.

I’ve been called both a palin hater and a liar. You know I don’t hate her.

We saw the same phenomenon taking place in 2008 with all the brainwashed 0bama groupies chanting "yes we can!" and wailing about "hope and change!", if anyone dared to say a critical word about 'The One', they were branded a racist, a bigot, a redneck, a klansman, any and all epithets were fair game to be thrown around, because THAT is cult-like behavior, i.e., the Wise Leader must NOT be criticized because they are so FAR above the unwashed masses, why they are nearly a deity! (and we have seen Sarah Palin compared more than once with no less than Jesus Christ Himself)

This is what happens when people put their common sense and logic aside, and instead of focusing on the policies and positions of their idols, they focus only on their idol's personality, most folks don't even know that the phrase 'Cult of the Personality' refers to the Soviet era of Josef Stalin when he was all but worshiped as a god, and even after being denounced by Khrushchev in '56, the same cultish worship raised it's ugly head in other Soviet puppet states, like Yugoslavia (Tito), Romania (Ceausescu), North Korea (Kim il Sung/Kim Jong il) which persists to this very day, just to name a few examples.

Former Attorney General John Mitchell said "watch what we do, not what we say", and that is sage advice, just because someone pays lip service to conservative values does not mean they are conservative. It only means that they know how to say what their audience of the moment wants to hear, nothing more and nothing less.

” As governor, Palin accomplished more in two years than most governors do in 4 to 8—”

That is the most laughable crock of manure I have ever heard.

” While out of office, Palin has accomplished more than the others combined. “

And just what might that be?

Who did she get elected?

What bills did she pass?

” The Tea Party movement would have never taken off the way it had without her “

Rush Limbaugh: “Listen folks, Sarah Palin is NOT a Tea Partier! Sarah Palin is a REPUBLICAN! “

” and the healthcare bill would have passed a lot sooner and been worse without her “death panels” comment. “

Got proof? No you don’t.

” Most importantly: she’s the only one brave enough to speak out on highly contentious issues”

Horsecrap! Jim DeMint and Michele Bachmann have been all over Obama, Pelosi, and Co, since the day Obama took office, and have never let up! Palin is NOT in office, and has nothing to lose....unlike Bachmann and DeMint who have their respective offices to lose.

” Showing that above all, she is willing to challenge the GOP establishment-machine,”

She has been on a non stop campaign for the most vile, and dangerous man in the “Republican Establishment” John McCain. He is also the most evil member of the “ Republican Establishment”

By Obama of course. He's awesome, baby!! Didn't you know??

If Obama is the only person capable of 'crushing' Palin, wouldn't that make Palin the strongest Republican candidate by comparison?

I accept what you say as being factual and have no disagreement on those facts. What I disagree with is that leaving the position as Governor was the best solution.
