Dave Weigel called Alvin Greene the the kind of opponent candidates dream about, but he didnt know the half of it. Jim Geraghty noted that the new Democratic nominee to run against conservative stalwart Sen. Jim DeMint in South Carolina hadnt filed any paperwork with the FEC on fundraising, but perhaps he just didnt want to get in any more trouble with the law than Greene already faces. The Democratic nominee isnt just wholly unserious the AP reports that hes been charged with a felony obscenity offense that could get him five years in prison: South Carolinas surprise Democratic nominee to challenge U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint is facing a pending felony charge. Court records show 32-year-old Alvin Greene was arrested in November and charged with showing obscene Internet photos to a University of South Carolina student. The felony charge carries up to five years in prison.
Records indicate Greene showed photos to a woman and talked about going to her room at a university dorm. Um
wow. Just
wow. The Associated Press had better be sure of its reporting, because if this turns out to be another Alvin Greene, theyll have to have their checkbooks handy. They did call and ask for a response, but Greene told them he had no comment.
LOL!!
Very strange. You would think the AP would have let the story out before the primary, so they could ‘save the democrats’. The whole story is strange. Like others said...how is it a felony charge unless he exposed himself to the girl? Would that be a felony?
I am calling him a ‘pedophile’ because he messed with a college student...isn’t that what Foley did and the democrats and media called him a pedophile? What is the difference?
And what nobody will say is that the reason for his surprise victory is all the blacks voted for the black guy. Of course, that isn’t racism. It’s only racism if whites only vote for white guys.
What is it with the SC Democrat establishment? Pretty much the same thing happened last time when the Ron Paul-backed Bob Conley won their nomination.
Speaking for myself, I supported Bob Conley. He ran against Lindsey Graham.
No doubt I’d have voted for him too. But what does it say about the SC Dems that they have so much trouble getting their ‘real’ candidates nominated...
He is almost the perfect democrat ... if he is illegally in the country he is a shoe in!
“Lets face it, if he were a white man, hed be governour of Arkansas by now.”
Right - or POTUS.
With that kind of record, the DUmocrats would give him a chairmanship.
Whoa, this one makes up for Mark What’s-His-Name from FL who stepped down and Larry Craig, Cunningham, and a couple others.
This is a doozy. But you watch - Greene will get a bunch of votes, mainly from urban blacks.
What a hoot!!!!!!
It’s pretty damn pathetic! How far they have fallen in SC.
First a weird Pat Buchanan/Ron Paul GOP deserter wins their Senate nomination. (I would not have voted for him)
And now a total nobody. An unemployed man. A guy named Greene who wares green t-shirts. He didn’t have campaign signs. Probably didn’t spend a dime. He doesn’t even have a website. And now this.
This kind of thing has happened to both parties before. Nothing is more embarrassing. In 2008 a green party jerk won the GOP Senate nomination in Montana. I think he actually had to campaign to do it though!
I am laughing myself silly right now ! “Hil” arious !!
“a weird Pat Buchanan/Ron Paul GOP deserter wins their Senate nomination. (I would not have voted for him)”
Perhaps you don’t remember who he was running against.
Same thing with Obama. They voted for him because they think he’s black. It is pure racism.
This guy won with over 60% of the vote! The unemployed vet was asked whether he supported TARP and he was at a complete loss as to what it even was! The State Democratic Committee and the DNC are running away as fast as they can from this guy. This man is proof positive that there are many misinformed voters out there. Probably the exact same people who voted for the Kenyan.
bttt
Oh, well he should easily get 100% of the Dem vote then.
