Joran’s Daddy died last year of a heart attack. My bet is that Joran has been getting money to live by dealing drugs.
Actually, I heard on the news he was involved in some sort of sex slave trade.

7 -Aruba, surely you know that Natalee was kidnapped - or do you actually believe that the other “twenty” went “willingly” too?
8 -Aruba, surely you know that killers who hide from justice will surely strike again. Yet you’ve let them go free.
9 -Aruba, surely you know that Paulus held his “no body, no case” meeting on May 30, after Natalee was murdered by his son? Yet you awarded him money for his obstruction in this case.
10 - Aruba, surely you know that all those missing files and statements made by the “Dutch Boy” didn’t walk away from the file cabinet by themselves? Yet you’ve held no one accountable for that.
11 - Aruba, surely you know that dropping GHB into an innocent unknowing tourist’s drink, doesn’t turn the tourist into “willing” and “wanting” to be kidnapped, raped and killed? Yet you’ve charged no one with these crimes.
12 - Aruba, surely you know that the rich Dutch elite in your society are the ones who benefited from this travesty of justice? Yet the framed black security guards are still considered suspects.
13 - Aruba, surely you know that Dompig was fired and never “retired”? Yet you continue to promote this falsehood.

17 - Aruba, surely you know that allowing Paulus Van der Sloot to drive himself to jail in his own car when you arrested him would send a clear message of corruption and your intent to make a farce out of this investigation. Yet you allowed him to do it.
18 -Aruba, surely you know that Natalee did not willingly go with three “Arubans” knowing that she would be kidnapped, raped and murdered. Yet you allowed your polis to attack her character.
19 – Aruba, surely you know there are corrupt cops in your dept. Yet they have faced no punishment.
20 – Aruba, surely you know the computers were tampered with. Yet you failed to have them forensically analyzed.
21 – Aruba, surely you know the missing documents from Joran’s file were taken by Paulus van der Sloot. Yet you failed to hold him accountable for that.
22 – Aruba, surely you know the Security Guards were set up. Yet you have not charged those witnesses for lying.
23 - Aruba, surely you know that you cannot drug, rape and murder an American tourist and not pay a heavy price for it.

I’m not sure why Beth thought Joran would tell the truth under any circumstances unless this was set up as an
FBI sting.
I do seriously wonder if the Aruban LEOs tipped Joran off, and that's why he fled with the 15 grand and decided to murder another woman on the fifth anniversary of the date which Natalee Holloway disappeared.
Joran will no doubt spin some story of his own as he did in Aruba but no one will be buying it. Your theory makes sense.

That makes so much sense. JVDS is more than capable of dreaming up another scam. Beth, on the other hand, would have been reluctant to get in touch with him for any reason and her first response would have been contacting the FBI.
Sad that things backfired so horribly.
It is altogether possible that this was a professional sting operation, thought up entirely by the FBI, who enlisted Beth Twitty's assistance, and which has backfired terribly, with blowback consequences of tragic proportions with the violent sadistic murder of Stephany Flores.
I seriously don't think that I've ever seen even the remotest trace of fear ever cross his facial features, so the video footage must be rather startling.
If anyone happens to hear what time the plane is scheduled to land, and Joran van der Sloot debark at the Chilean/Peruvian border, please post the TIME here on this thread. I might turn on the TV to tune in any live footage of his arrival, it’s just too bizarre to imagine that this Little Emperor Psychopath is described as looked scared sh*tless, so I might take a look myself, to see if its really true.

On "The Early Show" Friday, Natalee's stepfather, "Jug" Twitty and Carol Standifer, a close friend of Natalee's mother, Beth Twitty, discussed Flores' murder. Twitty said he hopes Flores' investigation in Peru is conducted better than Natalee's in Aruba was.
Twitty said, "We could have had the answers in the first couple of days down there had they done their job right. And this should have never happened what's happened in Peru. And I actually lay blame on the one person in particular, that's the (police commissioner, Jan van der Straten), in charge at that time. Because he knew what happened. And it just happened to be political connections and friendship that kind of let Joran slip off the hook."
As for the Holloway family, Standifer said Beth Holloway is "overwhelmed" now at the news of Flores' death. "She's just really very disturbed," Standifer said, adding, "Every Memorial Day weekend, it's hard for her and it's hard for all of us...."

Rodriguez pointed out the FBI is also charging van der Sloot with extortion after he allegedly accepted $250,000 to reveal the location of Natalee's body -- the information he provided turned out to be false, authorities say.......
Nice to know that smirk has been wiped off his face.
I saw some footage of Joran from this morning and didn’t see a black eye. Darn it!

MOUNTAIN BROOK, ALABAMA (WIAT) - It's been five years since Natalee Holloway disappeared on a senior class trip in Aruba. Her mother is continuing her fight for justice and to educate other families about the dangers of travel overseas. The Natalee Holloway Resource Center opens in Washington, D.C. in June. Beth Holloway is also working with a global security firm called Mayday 360.
Beth spoke to CBS 42 about how her life has changed in the last 5 years.
"I have redefined my life rebuilt it and reclaimed it"
The nightmare began May 30, 2005 when her daughter went missing in Aruba. Her experience has taught her much, and she hopes to help others avoid what she went through......
As for her daughter, she does believe she will someday see justice.
"Justice comes in many different forms and so I do feel as if it might be through validation recovery of her remains at some point....."

I did read a report from Associated Press that said Joran will arrive in Chile this afternoon. No specific time given. But he is apparently en route, according to AP.
I wonder how he contacted her (phone, email?) and how he had access to her private contact information?
Most of this is speculation - because media reports are incomplete or confusing.
Beth Holloway has always begged for *answers* so either she reached out or JVDS saw an opportunity to make money or cause grief - OR BOTH and made contact. IMHO Once the offer of money was made or demanded - the FBI got involved.
As previously posted - it’s going to take years to get all the facts - and even longer to bring JVDS to justice.
AND...AS PER FOX NEWS... the Dutch are involved in the extortion investigation:
"....In the Netherlands, Dutch prosecutors on Friday said they had raided two homes hunting for evidence linked to the extortion charges. They seized computers, cell phones and data-storage devices in the raid, which was carried out at the request of U.S. authorities, said national prosecutor's office spokesman Wim de Bruin....."
