Very interesting.
(Excerpt) Read more at bp.com ...
Has this set the new record for the most intense live thread yet ?
I finally found it and there is a cloud around the top but something is definitely coming out at a high rate
Did BP say they would be able to capture 80% or .08% ?
I hate BP for the way they let their styrene plant and refinery in Texas City deteriorate... they MILKED them for money, and spent NOTHING To keep them modernized and competitive... shame on them.
Ocean 2 just cut it loose.... Little ball is waving him on.
“Bye! Good Luck!”
BOP is DEFINITELY rockin!
One of the ROVs let go of the top and motored down to the very bottom of the BOP. You can see where the pipe comes out of the seabed.
Is there oil going up the hose to the surface?
What I see as a positive was the ability to set the cap over the gusher without the gusher blowing the cap away.
I would assume they can remove and replace the cap fairly easily if they need to replace or inspect the seal, or take another cut on the pipe stub, or whatever.
For cryin’ out loud!
Why does DeepWaterBP.com have a “live” streaming video of a dead decaying dolphin laying on the beach?
It looks like fairly good flow out of the cap prior to sealing. But I don’t like the way they are inspecting below the BOP.
I’ve read that on these huge oil spills, about 50% of it evaporates! Some is degraded by the dispersal chemicals, some is eaten by the oil-eating bacteria, and less than 10% is actually cleaned up/ recovered.

Sites been hacked by Greenpeace.
First, we grow these huge creatures with gills and mermaid tails and microchips embedded into their brains that tie them to a human counterpart.
Then, we get the human counterparts to lay in a big coffin and control the creatures with their minds.
Then they guide the creatures down to the wellhead, where the creatures will be able to manipulate objects at the direction of the human controllers on the surface. This will allow us to try various methods for capping the well or collecting the flow, and we can tap into the neuro feeds from the humans up top to see what's going on.
He was met with blank stares from the BP execs, which is why he later went out and called them morons. Interestingly, that's the same word they used about him as soon as he left the room.
So I guess I was gone doing stuff for a while. Is the seal already on ? Is it like on the pipe and not being blown off or clogged by ice ? That is very good if so, but prayers need to keep coming. There is of course a fair amount of the black stuff leaking from it, and of course nobody watching couled judge how much.
That is Enterprise ROV 1. It is one of the side vents not the top that they plan to hook up to the surface.
About a week ago, one of the ‘rags’ ran a slide show of the spill. Intermixed with what we’ve seen so far were some really grim looking shots. They didn’t see fit to include the fact that they were from the Valdez in their captions.
the Skandi is spending a lot of time looking at the seabed where the well pipe comes up
not sure what that is all about
