Very interesting.
(Excerpt) Read more at bp.com ...
Okay, thanks... That sounds like a good idea. I’d throw a chain around it also though and maybe use a binder.
Enterprise one, the ROV has a hold of a valve on the top of the cap.
So, he’ll close the valve, then the hose will be connected, and then he’ll open the valve back up, right?
Watching the hat rocking around on the stub.
Looks to me like they are inspecting the seating of the cap and the structural integrity of the riser.
The black american population of florida increased by 20 percent on the first day of summer vaction when everyone went swimming... :)
It looks like one of the side pipes that the ROV is holding onto. I don’t think they have shown the top pipe yet.
I know they had to set this whole thing up on the fly so here’s my question: can all the clamps be closed at once or do they have to be turned down individually? That could be tricky.
I got an aluminum structure left and right and a black flume in the middle on the bp cam
Is it just me, or does that look like Fire?
Its an ROV light on the backside.
or not...lol
I don’t have that feed I guess
Then we get a bigger pipe to cover the pipe and then we get an even bigger pipe to cover the first bigger pipe.....on and on until we cover the whole BOP.........problem solved ;^)
I know, I was just being facetious there.
Brilliant deduction sir
well... they clearly have latched on to the riser to be able to get good, steady close up pictures... so, what now?
Why are they doing these measures to stop the flow before they have a COMPREHENSIVE solution?
(immigration snark)
It had a two pm dateline on it. Back in the day, if somebody gave me a time quote in the morning and I didn’t file until the afternoon, I adjusted the time. Ah well, that was then...
Good idea. 2 or 3 chains and binders from the cap down to points on the BOP would pull it down nice and tight.
