An animal welfare group said Tuesday that a graphic video it secretly recorded shows workers at a dairy farm beating cows with crowbars, stabbing them with pitchforks and punching them in their heads.
The video was recorded in an undercover investigation at Conklin Dairy Farms Inc., said Mercy For Animals, a not-for-profit group that publicizes what it calls cruel practices in the dairy, meat and egg industries and promotes a vegan diet.

my, you ARE a rude boy! :-)
That was cute, but putting words that I didn’t say in Baghdad Bob’s mouth instead of mine is really no more effective than putting words in my mouth that I didn’t say.
Nice try though, and you got to practice your HTML skills so it wasn’t a total loss.
That’s ok, Mr. Conklin. Life’s not fair, as you are about to discover.
I don’t care what group might have done this, I want to see these guys get punished (you don’t want to know what I’d have done to them if I could choose)
I don’t care if it was the so called “mercy for animals” group or not. They should not have done this! Everyone else sees this and you just keep harping on what group might ahve done it. What part of WHO CARES what political beliefs the perps have do you not get??????? Fry ‘em (the perps, not the cows) no matter what!
Trust me... Mavericks aren't any better. Although I have seen a tasty Hog or two in my time.
I could only watch a few seconds and I started to get sick. Who does this kind of thing? If that is how they treat animals, I shudder to think how they would treat their fellow man.
Just to be clear, I agree with you that it was more likely the PC group doing this. I just don’t care. Fry the guy(s) and THEN torture him/them. I was sickened.
It looks like the idiot sadist in the video was “showing off” for the camera person. He seemed to delight in coming up with different methods of torture and inflicting pain. From a business point of view this makes no sense at all. From a personal point of view the creep in the video is a text book sadist.
What kind of pathetic losers would resort to beating cows? It is hard to believe.
>> Thats ok, Mr. Conklin.
That’s a strange twist, coming from a man with your rhetorical skills, which, while not impressive, at least don’t totally suck... usually.
Thanks
Funny, coming from the guy who parachuted onto the thread to say, “I wouldnt be surprised if the mercy for animals people were behind the mistreatment themselves” without watching the video first. LOL
“...you’re doing it wrong.”
EXACTLY! Low heat, slow long cook time! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
I used to live in farm country, raised horses and sheep and volunteered at the animal shelter. Animal rights types were never concerned about the humane treatment of animals.
Humane treatment of animals is a goal only for those who see domesticated animals as one of the good things on earth. I’m not going to defend all farming practices because I don’t agree with all of them (veal calves). Chicken farming maybe objectionable to some but I don’t see how anyone has a problem with hog farming. All the ones I’ve seen have been high tech clean operations.
Seems that the mistreatment involved was lack of cleaning the animal cages. Taub, going away, had hired two caretakers supposed to do this in his absence. He had also hired Pacheco, which is, as you say, how Pacheco got access.
Bottom line, the two caretakers didn't do their job. Pacheco failed in not alerting Taub to what was going on. He did alert authorities.
Not exactly perfect, but a far cry from getting inside and abusing the animals. Even not alerting Taub might have had a perfectly valid explanation - you ever tried running down someone off at a conference or something?
Please understand that I’m not taking the side of the sadist. I think what he is doing is despicable. (Not to mention stupid bad business for a farmer — would you take a key to the paint job on your tractor or throw rocks in your hay baler?)
I’m just not buying into the premise that the cruelty is organized or widespread or encouraged by the owner. And I still think it’s staged to some degree.
Poster “MARTIAL MONK” might be close to the truth with the premise that the perp was a run-of-the-mill inbred idiot goaded by the MFA “handler”. That would seem to fit the facts, such as they are.
FRegards
Animal rights folks, invariably, reject the biblical idea that humans are a special creation. They believe we are an accident and therefore that all living things have an equal claim on the earth.
We are called to be good stewards and to take care of our animals, but we are not to worship them or be on an equal level with them.
I have no doubt that the evidence is genuine. Animal rights groups are not above torturing animals to prove their point about how much animals are being tortured.
I would bet anything that those abusing the cows in the video are members of the animal rights group. If proven, the farmer should file a lawsuit against them, hopefully for more in damages that they are able to pay.
>> Funny, coming from the guy who parachuted onto the thread to say
So the first response to the OP is “parachuting onto the thread”? ROFL! Words have meaning... stick around, learn the ropes.
[”i’ve been here since whineteen whiny whine” coming in 3... 2... 1...]
Oh, and I did watch the video. Three times.
Just callin' it like I see it.
ferk = jerk
