Holder hasn't read Ariz. law he criticized
The Washington Times ^ | May 13, 2010 | Stephen Dinan

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., who has been critical of Arizona's new immigration law, said Thursday he hasn't yet read the law and is going by what he's read in newspapers or seen on television.

Mr. Holder is conducting a review of the law, at President Obama's request, to see if the federal government should challenge it in court. He said he expects he will read the law by the time his staff briefs him on their conclusions.

"I've just expressed concerns on the basis of what I've heard about the law. But I'm not in a position to say at this point, not having read the law, not having had the chance to interact with people are doing the review, exactly what my position is," Mr. Holder told the House Judiciary Committee.

This weekend Mr. Holder told NBC's "Meet the Press" program that the Arizona law "has the possibility of leading to racial profiling." He had earlier called the law's passage "unfortunate,"...

Ted Poe is NOT someone to be trifled with. He is not a lawyer/trust fund baby kennedy wannabe typical politican. His last job was a judge in Harris County, Texas. And a no nonsense judge at that. Glad he showed holder what a partisan idiot he is. holder just automatically assumed that because the dim party’s media hates the law, that it is flawed and didn’t need to bother himself by actually reading the law. F him. It is just a reprint of the federal law, so in effect, holder is saying that the federal law that he is sworn to uphold is crap. What a piece of gargabe, terrorist defending obama butt boy he is.

Maybe he should read Mexico’s own immigration laws and learn something about how to protect your country

From website listing the laws http://www.canadafreepress.com/2007/lillpop022707.htm
At a time when the Supreme Court and many politicians seek to bring American law in line with foreign legal norms, it’s noteworthy that nobody has argued that the U.S. look at how Mexico deals with immigration and what it might teach us about how best to solve our illegal immigration problem. Mexico has a single, streamlined law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are:

•in the country legally;

•have the means to sustain themselves economically;

•not destined to be burdens on society;

•of economic and social benefit to society;

•of good character and have no criminal records; and

•contributors to the general well-being of the nation.

The law also ensures that:

•immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;

•foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;

•foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics;

•foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;

•foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;

•those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.

Who could disagree with such a law? It makes perfect sense. The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens — and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-citizens, illegal and illegal. Under the constitution, the Ley General de Poblacion, or General Law on Population, spells out specifically the country’s immigration policy.

Poe was great, just as cool as a cucumber with that slow south Texas drawl. Holder looked like a kid who just got caught by his Momma with his Dad’s copy of Playboy! LOL!

Very well said. I thought it was hilarious the way Poe hamstrung him.

Ted Poe is NOT someone to be trifled with. He is not a lawyer/trust fund baby kennedy wannabe typical politican. His last job was a judge in Harris County, Texas.

I was not familiar at all with Ted Poe but as I was watching the segment I thought to myself he must be a lawyer and a darn good one, he's sharp as a tack.

Too bad our politicians don’t have the stones to follow Mexico’s lead on immigration law.

Holder also believes the 2nd amendment applies only to militias. IMHO, our Affirmative Action chickens have come home to roost.

Every time you see this a-hole, he has a furrowed brow and a somewhat befuddled look about him as he does a spin dance or attempts to avoid answering the question. This man is not dumb and is playin’/stalling us to avoid telling us the truth.

When HIS time comes, he should be dealt with severely for failing to protect THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES, WHILE HE PROTECTS AND SUPPORTS THE ENEMIES OF THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES. Damn this traitor and this treasonous government.

And we pay this man’s salary! Just another lazy, idiotic, doofus in this administration. How many are we paying now to run this country into the ground? Must be several hundred of Zero’s friends and supporters. Hope they enjoy their brief stay in DC because in a few years we will sweep them all out with the trash.

Come on, racist members of the VRWC, that immigration bill from Arizona is practically 17 pages long! And I am talking single-space, people!

Since when do Affirmative Action Appointees have to read stuff like that, laden with legal jargon as I am sure it is? That is what non-minority underlings are for.

I am so upset that I am filing a report with Global HR about this.
FYI: Public Sector AAAs are required to:
(A) Meet for lunch with each other every day
(B) Have non-minority staff prepare PowerPoints (max of 15 screens, with builds and logos, Pie Charts and Bar Graphs OK, if in jazzy colors) to present to each other at these daily luncheon meetings, which run from the beginning of the workday (11:30 AM) to the end of the work day (2:30PM)
(C) The subject of these presentations is to show the attendees how the various public sector commissions are doing in regard to Affirmative Action hiring and promotions, Affirmative Action Outreach, and the best places in DC to buy fancy Italian leather goods and shoes.

So far, General Holder is doing a superior job in fulfilling these requirements. At the Super AAA Luncheon, usually held every third Friday, he should get a plaque. That makes him an "Award-Winning" Attorney General. So take your complaints elsewhere, honkies.
