The origin of modern myths and legends is a side interest of mine, the birther myths among them.
Now I understand why Obama being born in Kenya made it into your belief system, despite it being physically impluasible (requiring around 5 days and five flights, most on propeller planes) and financially impossible (it would have cost about a year of her parents' combined salaries) for Stanley Ann & Obama Sr. to travel there for her to give birth. After all, Obama's Father was from Kenya, so if you are going to make up a myth about Obama being born abroad, what better place than Kenya?
Implausibilty, and even impossiblilty doesn't deter the making of myths if there is a strong emotional reason to believe them, as in this case.
What I don't understand is, of all possible places in Kenya, why make Mombassa the birthplace in your myth? If you look at the map of Kenya, it's on the other end of the country from Obama Sr.'s village, 762 miles away, which would make it a minimum 2 day train ride. Probably longer, since Kenyan trains were very fast in 1961.
I suppose you could argue that there were no hospitals in Obama's village, so they had to travel to a major city. But Nairobi was closer, and more modern.
So why Mombassa? Not only is it completely implausible; I don't see the emotional appeal. Why Mombasssa rather than his father's village? Or why Mombassa rather than Nairobi?
Help me out here, birthers. Why do you reserve this special place for Mombassa in your belief system?
O has spent over a million dollars so as to avoid releasing his original long form birth certificate. He has elevated the lawyer who headed up that effort into his inner circle. The security guy whose employee broke into obama’s state department passport files has also been elevated to Obama’s white house.
>>> It is actually crapable evidence of the most craptastic nature and I forget who that moron was that invented the Mombassa.
If we had a prominent republican senator personally obtain a certified copy directly from a DOH official on national TV, even that BC would get downplayed as a forgery.
It’s certainly more believable than Obama’s online COLB.
Glad to hear the storms missed them. They missed Arkansas, too. But darn, Tennessee got clobbered. Couldn’t believe the pics.
parsy, who is safe
(a Kenyan DOH official that is)
LOL! POTD!
An interesting legal question would be if Mom couldn’t transmit citizenship, could Obama move to have a deceased mother’s marriage annulled based on bigamy. Being born out of wedlock reduces the mother’s residency requirements quite a bit.
Then why are you on this post? To convince us we are in error?
To shill for Barry?
Why?
If you really wanted this go away there only two strategies that would work:
Barry should show his Long Form and the one he found among his mother’s belongings
or
Just ignore the story and it will become irrelevant all by itself.
You seem just as obsessed with the story otherwise we would all be talking to walls instead of you or the other proxies for Barry.
NS excluded of course, only because I have an appreciation for his posts.
I would love to see as many states as possible enact such laws. It was my understanding that none have completed the process yet.
If it matters not why does it matter to you?
I am not a birther. For the life of me, I want this story to end because it is a side issue to Obama’s purposeful destruction of capitalism and the constitution.
Why do you, Obama, the old media, and people that sit on the left side of the aisle keep bringing this story up as much as the birthers? Is it curiosity or a divide and conquer strategy?
Obama and his party have an obligation to supply the nation all of OHB’s birth, health, school, and legal records. Otherwise, they and you should shut the f@ck up with your idiotic talking points.
Not good in OKC either.
Thank you! Mystery solved. That pretty much wraps up all my unanswered questions about birther myths. It all makes sense now.
Birthism provides an amazing insights into the development of irrational beliefs among population groups.
It might even have some application in behavioral economics!
LOL
How do you really feel? /s
I'm interested in how absurd, irrational beliefs spread through populations. I think it might actually have some application in my research on the development of financial bubbles.
Really? What information am I missing?
Question for you: If child custody and divorce records of political candidates are a matter of the public interest so much so that a Judge ruled that they were and must be released to the public, how is a $10 original long form birth certificate not in the public interest?
It’s so simple. Show the documents then all arguments end, unless the documents are obviously forged. Why all this twisting and hooking of noses to draw blood? Tell the truth and all is well.
But I think this is all orchestrated to cause division. I know progressives have operated a divide and conquer strategy with this issue.
something happened back here in Selma, Alabama. Something happened in Birmingham that sent out what Bobby Kennedy called, Ripples of hope all around the world. Something happened when a bunch of women decided they were going to walk instead of ride the bus after a long day of doing somebody else's laundry, looking after somebody else's children. When men who had PhDs decided that's enough and were going to stand up for our dignity. That sent a shout across oceans so that my grandfather began to imagine something different for his son. His son, who grew up herding goats in a small village in Africa could suddenly set his sights a little higher and believe that maybe a black man in this world had a chance.- Barack Obama - March 2007What happened in Selma, Alabama and Birmingham also stirred the conscience of the nation. It worried folks in the White House who said, You know, we're battling Communism. How are we going to win hearts and minds all across the world? If right here in our own country, John, we're not observing the ideals set fort in our Constitution, we might be accused of being hypocrites. So the Kennedys decided we're going to do an air lift. We're going to go to Africa and start bringing young Africans over to this country and give them scholarships to study so they can learn what a wonderful country America is.
This young man named Barack Obama got one of those tickets and came over to this country. He met this woman whose great great-great-great-grandfather had owned slaves; but she had a good idea there was some craziness going on because they looked at each other and they decided that we know that the world as it has been it might not be possible for us to get together and have a child. There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born. So don't tell me I don't have a claim on Selma, Alabama. Don't tell me Im not coming home to Selma, Alabama.
Im here because somebody marched. Im here because you all sacrificed for me. I stand on the shoulders of giants. I thank the Moses generation; but we've got to remember, now, that Joshua still had a job to do. As great as Moses was, despite all that he did, leading a people out of bondage, he didn't cross over the river to see the Promised Land. God told him your job is done. You'll see it. You'll be at the mountain top and you can see what Ive promised. What Ive promised to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. You will see that Ive fulfilled that promise but you won't go there.

The Selma to Montgomery marches were three marches in 1965 that marked the political and emotional peak of the American Civil Rights Movement.
They were the culmination of the voting rights movement in Selma, Alabama, launched by Amelia Boynton and her husband. Boynton brought many prominent leaders of the American Civil Rights Movement to Selma, including James Bevel, who initiated and organized the march; Martin Luther King, Jr.; and Hosea Williams.
The first march took place on March 7, 1965 "Bloody Sunday" when 600 civil rights marchers were attacked by state and local police with billy clubs and tear gas. The second march took place on March 9. Only the third march, which began on March 21 and lasted five days, made it to Montgomery, 54 miles (87 km) away.
---- Mr. Obama, YOU LIE.
