Live from the East Room at the White House! Barack Obama announces his nomination of Solictor General Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court.
10 a.m. EDT.
She will be confirmed without hardly a fight because she is largely an unknown on her views of constitutional law even though it’s obvious she is liberal.
She looks like a butch Mama Cass.
She looks like Rip Taylor’s butch sister.
I'd say Biden, but he was standing on the podium next to her. It must have been Gibbsy.
So did Hitler.
I had to switch all TV’s to sports news. I will not let these “children” ruin my day....today.
Please forward it in the form I presented it in, including the link to its source (David Horowitz’s website).
As an undergraduate at Princeton, Kagan wrote a senior thesis titled
"To the Final Conflict: Socialism in New York City, 1900-1933."
In the "Acknowledgments" section of her work, she specifically thanked her brother Marc, whose involvement in radical causes led me to explore the history of American radicalism in the hope of clarifying my own political ideas. In the body of the thesis, Kagan wrote:
"In our own times, a coherent socialist movement is nowhere to be found in the United States. Americans are more likely to speak of a golden past than of a golden future, of capitalisms glories than of socialisms greatness. Conformity overrides dissent; the desire to conserve has overwhelmed the urge to alter. Such a state of affairs cries out for explanation. Why, in a society by no means perfect, has a radical party never attained the status of a major political force? Why, in particular, did the socialist movement never become an alternative to the nations established parties?...
"Through its own internal feuding, then, the SP [Socialist Party] exhausted itself forever and further reduced labor radicalism in New York to the position of marginality and insignificance from which it has never recovered. The story is a sad but also a chastening one for those who, more than half a century after socialisms decline, still wish to change America. Radicals have often succumbed to the devastating bane of sectarianism; it is easier, after all, to fight ones fellows than it is to battle an entrenched and powerful foe. Yet if the history of Local New York shows anything, it is that American radicals cannot afford to become their own worst enemies. In unity lies their only hope."http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=2398
Hoping that the people will eat up that "granddaughter of immigrants" meme with a spoon.
She and Sonia will probably have some kind of fun together...eewww!
Picture at 74 looks like there’s a five o’clock shadow. Are some kind of steriods being used? Will there be a sex change while in office?
Yes, when push comes to shove, the Jewish vote will go overwhelmingly to the Dems. But the issue in November is not percentages but turnout.
I always get spooked when the talking heads on the tube say someone is extremely intelligent.
*
It’s just their talking point, and it’s usually far from the truth.
the left , well the far left and their messiah bozo doesn't look at what their qualifications are for this appointment, no they see a lesbian, Jewish liberal woman who worships bozo and that's enough for this position for them
this is frigging unbelievable
she’;s a homosexual activist and cannot be partial or fair in any homosexual cases.
add to the fact she has never even been on the bench
this is sickening and FOR YOU THE GOP, YOU HAD BETTER NOT VOTE FOR HER AT ALL
This is not even a pretense of academic objectivity and dispassion, she is clearly writing these words AS a yearning socialist. Granted, it will be waved aside as merely the words of callow youth, but for someone who has so little track record of publication it is highly relevant to ask how close her current views track to her *radical* views in her Princeton thesis. My guess is that her whole life shows this thesis to be her statement of belief. However, like Obozo she has been careful for the most part to avoid creation of documentary evidence which could affect her prospects on a day like today.
How did she advance so far in academe with so little publication, anyway?? She seems to be more of a leftist academic politician than any legal scholar.
Eh, no problem. Socialism’s proud history speaks for itself. (God what a vacant dingbat)
ping
Those were exactly my thoughts this morning.
Meanwhile, it was never really 'dead' as she feared then. And look where they are today, in total control of the demonRat party and White House! They have never been stronger than they are right now.
BTTT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
